Something about "basketball American" has me salty. Im calling somebody a chalk-walker in retaliation today.
Its fourchan, its the most politically correct term they could come up with. I m honestly shocked there is nothing worse in there.
Calling that politically correct is a bigger laugh than how blatantly racist it was in the first place.
Should have called themselves swimmer American for consistency.
Hockey American
NASCAR American.
White people love nascar because of all the whips
Sorry, the whips? I don't know enough about NASCAR to get that joke, maybe.
White people love nascar for the same reason they love millionaires. They think I could be that and then drunkenly drive their lifted truck home and kill a family with a NASCAR sticker on the back of their truck on the way back from the bar while they listen to a country song from a different millionaire telling them they just gotta roll up their sleeves and work every day like the singer does
That is reserved for the Canadians I think
I had a vacation home there as an edgy teen, I know they could say worse. My statement still stands. Lol
it's the usual 4chan racist bullshit.
Bro, that's the nicest name his years of 4chan addict brain could've come up with. 4chan is known for using the hard R N-word very very liberally.
Imagine being upset that your 4chan greentext forum has racism in the post. You can't eat your cake and have it, too. That just comes with the territory
My guy, even I’m not going to defend it. I thought it meant something different as so much of the greentext seemed absurd for the sake of absurdity. I’ve posted several greentexts without racism or sexism, so it’s far from impossible. Just because something is ubiquitous doesn’t make it okay. Now I’m stuck deciding between deleting the post or keeping it up with an apology to acknowledge my mistake.
Golfer? Polo player? What's the whitest sport imagineable in the most offensive way?
(Oh yes colonialism)
Pickleball. It's gotta be pickleball.
A quick gis shows me far too much variety in skin tone!
Damn...curling?
Oooh good call.
Croquet doesn't on gis lol
Uh, squash? I think that one is associated with rich white folk the most and has a kinda silly name.
isn't that the one they keep having heart attacks while playing? I approve of that one on principle
I can't be the only one that notices the sheer hypocrisy of being offended by racism and deciding to be a racist in turn, right?
Nah I see it too. But I'm petty so...
Edit: what historical context or stereotype does the term "chalk walker" address? None? Oh.
If you're trying to offend or denigrate someone based on their skin color, then yes, that's being racist regardless of historical or stereotype connotations. That's literally part of the definition of racism.
This is tame and somewhat more creative than the other terms 4chan use.
Here I was assuming from that line that this was not in the united states so it was notable that the man was american and also that be was wearing a basketball outfit. Then i thought it was weird they were talking about carrying given that it wasn't the US and then I just forgot the basketball thing
I genuinely read that sentence as, a famous basketball player.
But calling someone "baseball American" is fucking rude.
Curling-American. Double whammy because I don't think they do Curling outside of Canada.
Take a look at the curling winter Olympics, and you'll find that you are mistaken.
try Yakubian Devil or Person of Mayo too, or a good old fashioned "cracker" always hits
It's called "disposing of evidence". The only reason for him to get rid of the gun is because he doesn't want to be found with that gun.
Maybe he took the gun back when he got out. In that case it might have just been him wanting the cab driver to have a gun to protect them, and not wanting to be prosecuted for being drunk and shooting if something were to happen.
It's because IT'S HOT! Dude gotta get rid of it.
We used to call them people, they are very rare these days.
Nah basketball American is funny af in the context of the words that usually get used on 4chan
The slope is slippery. I don’t want to make work for the mods when people feel right in taking the next step. I like the politically correct greentexts posted here.
Before anyone else can say it, biblically accurate angel.
ew an holo and no flip up sights, jesus seams more of a FAL guy anyway
The moral of the story is not to let oneself be blinded by one's prejudices. Most people are good, and you have nothing to fear from them. Most people look out for each other to some extent. That is the moral of the story, OP.
I expected people on Lemmy be less sensitive than redditors, what a shame
Lemmy is incredibly PC, even more so than much of Reddit. For instance, it prevents you from posting the n word in any form- it’s filtered and removed automatically.
Lemmy is like if you took regular r/politics and r/antiwork posters and gave them exclusivity to an entire platform
