This is a Dengist community in favor of Bashar al-Assad with no information that can lead to the arrest of Hillary Clinton, our fellow liberal and queen. This community is not ironic. We are Marxists-Leninists.
This community is for posts about Marxism and geopolitics (including shitposts to some extent). Serious posts can be posted here or in /c/GenZhou. Reactionary or ultra-leftist cringe posts belong in /c/shitreactionariessay or /c/shitultrassay respectively.
We have a Matrix homeserver and a Matrix space. See this thread for more information. If you believe the server may be down, check the status on status.elara.ws.

I will just post the political map of Africa in case anyone wants to check it out. I don't know where most of the African countries are situated geographically:
Thank you, I needed this
Rise africa rise... It's time to bash the heads of US and EU. Down with imperialism
Gabon is like a major oil producer near the Gulf of Guinea. For a very long time most of its oil money went to a francophone upper class, leaving most of the population in poverty. It was one of the few colonies of french equatorial africa that supported the vichy government. Most of the population is considered part of the Fang ethnic group, similar to the mainland of equatorial quinea.
anyone with more details about the overthrown government and how much popular support this coup has?
Too early to say, but for what it's worth some videos of people celebrating in the streets are already circulating:

We can view this as anecdotal evidence of at least some measure of popular support.
It seems that the previous regime was an extremely corrupt military dictatorship, with criminal amounts of public funds embezzled. I doubt anyone will miss them
Some facts about the corrupt dynasty that had been in power for decades there and that was just overthrown:

You can post stuff like this in !worldnews@lemmygrad.ml as well. I am trying to make the community more active.
Tried to tbh but posted to !worldnews@lemmy.world on accident. There are three worldnews communities that show up, with no differentiating text indicating which is where. Annoying tbh.
