Don't know if I should spend $230 on a new knife

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 2 points 5 hours ago

Ooooh that's a lot... but it's an investment. I see the predicament

I have so many games but can't decide what to play so I am instead not playing anything and just scrolling Lemmy. 😮‍💨

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 1 points 5 hours ago

Ooooh which games?

My father has gone against my grandparents wishes and isn't sharing the inheritance with his children.

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Oh gawd. Is he a good dad in general?

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Not surprised but I'm sorry

[–] dumblederp@aussie.zone 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

It was the nail in the coffin of our relationship. I've stopped answering his calls and am just done with him. So in a way its a blessing.

I get that totally some people are toxic

[–] toadjones79@lemm.ee 13 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

(gestures vaguely:) I'm American...

[–] trolololol@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago) (1 children)

But the question was about first world....

Sorry for what you're going mate but I couldn't help making the joke

[–] toadjones79@lemm.ee 1 points 3 hours ago

It's a fair point. I'm one of the lucky ones, really. For now I only have to suffer embarrassment.

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 6 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

You really do have my sympathy

[–] toadjones79@lemm.ee 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I'm sorry we have become the burden the world has to deal with right now.

[–] trolololol@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Eeeeeeh do you mean now as in the last 80 years?

[–] toadjones79@lemm.ee 1 points 3 hours ago

Would gesturing vaguely a second time answer your question satisfactorily?

[–] chrisbtoo@lemmy.world 18 points 22 hours ago (3 children)

The country next to mine keeps threatening to invade.

[–] superkret@feddit.org 3 points 20 hours ago

That's traditionally a third world problem.

Our Senior sysadmin is on vacation, and on Wednesday, our licenses for both our email filtering system and our firewall run out.
I was tasked with getting the replacement systems set up, but due to miscommunication and other issues, I didn't have enough time for a proper test run.
So we're going to flip the switch and hope we are still able to log in and receive mail afterwards.
Cause if we aren't, we're forced to pay 30k € for a license renewal after already purchasing the replacements.

This has lead to a resurgence of my ADHD symptoms, and I wasn't able to wind down all weekend.
I've been having a constant fight-or-flight reflex for the past 3 days, but there's nothing to fight or flee from.

That's stressful mate... I have anxiety so I can relate to what it's like to have your body think you're being chased by a bear. Reach out to us of you need to vent

[–] trolololol@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

Yes please reach out, someone's stupidity is always falling on people who couldn't have prevented it and has to fix it

[–] BilboBargains@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago

Battling a gaming addiction and accompanying sleep deprivation.

Keeping ducks out of my pool.

Also there's a certain fork my partner hates using but refuses to get rid of.

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 5 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I love ducks so I'd be no use to you. I'd be encouraging them to come back more

[–] zero_spelled_with_an_ecks@programming.dev 6 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

They shit so much, otherwise I'd be fine with them.

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 4 points 20 hours ago

Ahhhhh good point...

[–] LouNeko@lemmy.world 5 points 18 hours ago

Instead of treating my intense joint pain, I just got prescribed an app with streching exercises. Thanks for nothing.

[–] Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Travelling too much means I can't spend time at home

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Where are you travelling to?

[–] Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 20 hours ago

A few countries nearby to visit family. It's not that bad, that's why it's a first world problem 😄
