The dog then walked down the hall to see Bob Shumaker, whose room he enters in the middle of the night to wake the sleeping 84-year-old by pressing his wet snout against Shumaker’s sleeping face

Ummm. No thanks

What a nice article.

When I was about seven years old, there was a giant collie that kept running away from a home where he was neglected and coming to our house. My older brother had provided food, water, and blankets on the porch the first time he showed up on a cold night and he just kept coming back. Finally, the mother of the family told my mom that if he ran away and came to us again we could keep him. Well, you can guess the ending. He was one of the nicest and most-loving dogs I've ever known. His name was Mister.
