Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

The coup already happened. You live in fascism.

What you want is a revolution to overthrow the fascists in power.

I'm American, and I've been trying to boycott Trump donors for several years. They're hard to avoid, especially with food, but it's possible. The way my country is falling to fascism makes me sick. I feel bad paying my taxes because I know my tax money is funding this garbage too.

Join a CSA. Dont buy things boxed.

[–] hitstun@fedia.io 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I like CSAs! That's exactly the kind of post-capitalist rebellion we need right now.

But in reality, I rely on processed foods more than I'd like to admit. I don't think CSAs can send me pizzas. Until I change myself enough, I'll continue to eat pizza, but I won't buy pizza from Papa John's.

Pizza is stupid easy to make. Flour and yeast dont come from a CSA, but I'm sure you can source it ethically.

I usually make a ton of dough on a weekend, separate it into 1-pizza-sized balls, and freeze them. Thaw overnight in the fridge and it takes like 20 min to roll & top. Or you can pre make the whole pizza and freeze it.

Denying money to these cunts is pretty much the easiest way to make a real difference. Billionaires don’t care about your well crafted online post, nor a peaceful protest. Since citizens united, it’s the only leverage you have now. Sorry your personal ego is driven by your blind loyalty to the corporation.

I really wish Uline wasn't in this group. It's so damned useful. Now I need to find multiple suppliers instead.

The Uihleins are huge pieces of shit. Dick especially.

You're doing the world a favor by taking some money out of the Republican pockets they line so thoroughly.

Uline sends out these really fat catalogues to businesses that might use their stuff. I have never ordered a single thing from them, because their shit is expensive, and I can buy it far cheaper almost anywhere. Despite NEVER ordering anything, they have been shipping me heavy catalogues for years. They have lost a small fortune on me.

Every person in America should order a Uline catalogue and throw it out, use it to roll joints, or put it in the outhouse for toilet paper. Eat up as much of their profit on wasted catalogues and postage as possible.

Also their boxes fall apart in shipping and fuck up my box walls (I work at ups)

This needs to go way beyond Amazon. They're a part of the problem for sure, but AFAIK they're a symbol of what's wrong with our economic and political system. The real enemies are the ones that are helping to prop up those in DC. You don't need to knock the King off the hill. Dig a tunnel underneath his hill and it will collapse.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Great, but the author of the post, Mark C Eades is making this into a series where he calls our companies one by one instead of just compiling and publishing a complete list. Even our pushback against the oligarchy is being monetized. Good job Mark, but at the same time-- try to be a bit more professional and true to the actual cause, Mark.

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Nobody will respond to a list. Too much. One at a time is better. Helps with focus.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

Too much.

I strongly disagree, and its a weird point you're making. People dont have enough focus to absorb and focus on a list over time. No one is going to read 20 weeks of posts to get to a 20 item list. People can read and absorb lists. And they get frustrated when their time is wasted with shenanigans designed to make a person some cash on the side. When the author draws peoples eyes to this he is spending a limited resource, and they should do it judiciously. So are you the author then? Or perhaps a right winger who is against this boycott?

[–] jagged_circle@feddit.nl 0 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Sounds like a good strategy. Stop trolling.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Pointing out the authors cynical approach doesnt meet the definition of trolling. Who am I trying to provoke? You seem to be the troll engaging in provocation here. Lets check:

"Trolling someone" means intentionally posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive comments online to provoke an emotional reaction or cause disruption, often with the goal of upsetting or annoying someone.

So the author of this series is going to just let us keep buying from bad actors until its their turn on week 52 to have a light shined on their bad actions?
