Honestly though this is such a funny toy might buy it for posterity

[–] person420@lemmynsfw.com 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I considered it until I saw the price was $100

[–] CaptnNMorgan@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Those are probably resellers. Unless that one is life-size, I'm pretty sure it's $20(if it's the one I'm thinking of). I got a smaller one that comes with a chicken leg, a bag, and a sword, for $10 on amazon. But resellers on there are selling it for $20 or more

It took me a minute to realize that little emoji wasn't just a stain on his shirt, because honestly it fits.

[–] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I thought it was a button to make him say "I AM STEVE"

Pressing the mustard stain on Steve's shirt to hear him say "Chicken Jockey" would be peak.

More future landfill mass.

We need low interest rates and skyrocketing asset prices so that people pay 2% more to buy this next year. Consumption must go up so that people have worthless jobs producing trash that our politicians call economic growth, as people applaud their stocks rising.

There are so many people who don't seem to understand what "middle aged" means. It means halfway to your life expectancy. So maybe 40, considering the average man in this country dies in their 70s. Jack Black is past middle age at 55.

[–] supamanc@lemmy.world 12 points 15 hours ago

Nah, middle age is not on specific age. Its the middle third of life span.

There's a growing popularity for the Divorced Dad's trading card game here in the states. My local game shop hosts the occasional game night for it.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be buying one at the first opportunity.

My other action figures are going to have to stand in the shadow of the glory of "it's just Jack Black, I guess".

(No sarcasm. I'm really going to buy this. I love the idea of Jack Black just playing "Jack Black".)

[–] MummysLittleBloodSlut@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Jack Black was mean to his friend just because his friend didn't like Trump

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

"His friend didn't like Trump" is a little different to his friend publically endorsing an assassination attempt on their president.

Anyone who was aghast that 'OMG Tenacious D broke up' is no fan - they break up on every album, literally every show - it's a bit. Jack Black is no fan of Trump, he's publically stated the entire Apocalypto album was a response to Trump's 2016 win. He hates his guts.

That's very different to advocating for political assassination on stage.

The smart response was to back away from the situation, distance himself from KG, Kg to issue an apology, let it cool off - and then come back later. And would you look at that - so far that's exactly what's been done.

I also think Trump should be assassinated.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 31 points 1 day ago (6 children)

It's more "Jack Black is a coward and a poser" than being mean imo

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 2 points 14 hours ago

All the keyboard warriors in this thread implying they'd happily shout out 'death to Trump!' on the world stage while having a kid and family living in the US (as JB does) are kidding themselves.

[–] frostysauce@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

More like "Jack Black, a man with $50 million, is a greedy pig and is only worried about getting more of that 'family friendly' money."

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 11 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I think that counts under poser but also true

~~Calling~~Wishing for the assassination of a political figure (especially one who is currently the sitting president, tho iirc, he was a candidate at the time) is pretty widely viewed as a red line and is very dangerous ground to tread for an American public figure, which he is.

Im pretty sure any "mean" thing he did is between him and Gaas, who has said they remain friends and will tour again as the D. Sounds like he is forgiven for anything you may have perceived as "mean." It seems like that should satisfy anyone with genuine concerns about his friend.

Or are you just canceling anyone whose rhetoric you view as insufficiently hateful towards Trump? (Dont answer that, it was rhetorical.)

edit: forgot it was a "wish"

[–] 0xD@infosec.pub 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Just gonna leave here that Trump is directly responsible for a million of excess COVID deaths. But he was president so that was completely fine, right?

This is an action figure. So this is literally, figuratively Jack Black.

[–] Simulation6@sopuli.xyz 1 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

An action figure that looks like they have not seen any action outside of the kitchen for decades.

[–] Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

We could call this an Inaction figure.

Now I want AI to generate an Inaction Man comic.

[–] Nangijala@feddit.dk 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Well, you get boring human writing instead:

"Inaction Man! There's a seven story building burning with kids and kittens on the top floor!"

Inaction Man scratches his belly and pops another potato chip into his mouth.

"Have you considered calling the fire department instead of me? They are doing reruns of the Sopranos so I'm busy."

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 29 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I think they went too realistic, maybe they could have taken some liberty with his figure. Not fat shaming because I have the same figure but I wouldn't want a doll of myself either.

[–] criitz@reddthat.com 25 points 1 day ago

He's not that round, they took liberties to make him less realistic and more cartoony

[off topic]

Back before "Better Call Saul" was launched, I was in a comic store. They had Breaking Bad action figures. I asked the clerk if a lot of kids were buying the Saul Goodman doll.

I learned that Saul was actually a good seller; there were plenty of real life lawyers who brought him.

[–] Stamau123@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Would you trust a lawyer with a Saul Goodman sitting on their desk?

Lord knows I would

[–] Omega_Jimes@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That lawyer would do anything for a client.
