GO NINJA GO NINJA GO NINJA GO
90s Music
From Grunge to Gangsta Rap and everything in between! Post a song and let's talk about it!
Rules
- All aspects of the LW TOS apply.
- Be constructive and don't gatekeep. Music is highly subjective, and people have different tastes.
- If the source is YouTube, use the actual YouTube URL rather than a specific Invidious/Piped link. This prevents dead links as those go on/offline or break due to Google changes while also letting people's browser plugins, Lemmy clients, etc automatically re-write YT links to their preferred instances. Feel free to put alternate links in the post body, though.
- Put the link to the song in the URL field and not the post body.
- Submissions must be from the 90s (1990 - 1999) based on either recorded or release date. e.g. if it was recorded in 1999 but released in 2000, we're not going to split hairs over that; post away. Covers made in the 90s of older music is absolutely allowed and encouraged.
Posting Guidelines / Suggestions
- The preferred title format is
Artist - Song Name [YEAR]
- If a song has a particular meaning or evokes a pleasant memory for you, feel free to share your story with it.
If you have other suggestions that would help grow the community and/or foster discussion, please feel free to share.

As soon as I saw the title, it got stuck in my head.
Memory unlocked.
Almost as good as Hammer’s Addam’s Family.
I know Vanilla Ice is a talentless hack, but I will always love this song and this movie. Core childhood memory.

I love this album
My daughter watched Secret of the Ooze just a couple days ago. First time I’ve seen it since release.
Hey, at least it aged better than Ace Ventura or A Christmas Story, ya know?
Fun fact: the turtles had two key stunt doubles that did most of the action for the movie, each with two: Mikey & Raph, and Donnie & Leo, IIRC. In fact, they're not only brothers (Ho Yung & Ho Sung), but their father is (was?) one of the few 10th dan black belts in Tae Kwon Do.
We got to meet the two at a tournament my little brother was competing at where they performed an absolutely incredible flight sequence at "halftime", essentially. Super nice guys, and actually funny in their own right. Blew my little mind, and they signed our pictures of them holding each of their TMNT costume heads, too! I, of course, choose the one who did Mikey. 🤘🏼
Ah yes, Vanilla "I didn't rip off Under Pressure, it goes doot doot doot doodoodootDOOT, mine goes doot doot doot doodoodootdoot it's totally different" Ice
Give it up, for our heroes in green
