First try of the database that u/walden made. Took me a hot minute to enter everything yesterday and I have a small den compared to some folks here.

That reminds me, I need to write the "Backups" section of the wiki so you don't lose all of your work when my computer crashes 😁

  • Brush: Proraso Professional
  • Razor: EldrormR Industries MM24
  • Blade: GEM PTFE (2)
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. - Unscented With Beeswax - Puck
  • Post Shave: Stirling Soap Co. - Unscented - Aftershave

Stirling’s alternative bases are great. UWB makes a wonderful lather, which I sort of wouldn’t think it would considering the use of beeswax.

  • Brush: Wald Stratos Haunter 29mm A1
  • Razor: Wade & Butcher 5/8 Hollow Ground Square Point
  • Lather: Zingari Man - The Nomad - Soap
  • Aftershave: Zingari Man - The Nomad - Aftershave
  • Talc: Yardley Gold

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

This was a test shave for a new coticule edge on this 5/8 Wade & Butcher. I think the edge met all of my requirements. I hope the razor's owner agrees.

Oh, is this a new-to-you W&B?

[–] gcgallant@sub.wetshaving.social 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

No that was an editing error (now fixed). This razor belongs to u/Josiguuh; new to straights.

My collection of wedges is a bit thin, though.

My collection of wedges is a bit thin, though.

Mine too. I don't even dislike them, but somehow, I'm gravitating to the hollow grinds.

[–] gcgallant@sub.wetshaving.social 3 points 1 month ago

As am I. Yet, when I use a wedge I really enjoy it.

  • Brush: Mühle Purist (21 mm silvertip badger, ebonite handle)
  • Razor: Koraat – r/Wetshaving exclusive Moarteen (15/16", full hollow, carbon steel)
  • Lather: Barrister and Mann – Le Grand Chypre
  • Post Shave: Speick – Men Active

Le Grand Chypre and the freshness of Speick make for a very nice combo for a warm almost-summer day like today.

Is this the OG gravefruit, the APR-SW collab?

[–] snooting@sub.wetshaving.social 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I think it’s just straight up grapefruit. Definitely from before my time, Jobooze gave me a bottle. Pretty sure phteven unloaded several on him that he had lying around.

[–] djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Oh, I didn't know there was a straight up grapefruit and I immediately read it as gravefruit. My bad

[–] snooting@sub.wetshaving.social 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I also was unaware! A couple times the font has had me second guessing whether that’s actually a “p” as well 😄

[–] walden@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I recall they called their single note scents the Basic Witch line, if you didn't know that.

[–] snooting@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 1 month ago

Didn’t know that but I love it

May 10th, 2025: Fast

  • Brush: AP Shave Co. - Synbad 24mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Blackland - Era - Level 2
  • Blade: Personna P74 (76)
  • Lather: Viking Shaving Soap - Norway - Soap
  • Post Shave: Noble Otter - The Night Before - Aftershave

This was a rushed shave so I could get out the door for a last minute overtime work shift. The Era Lvl 3 has long been a super favorite of mine, but this Lvl 2 is hot on its tail. Super nice.

I don’t know why iOS has to suck so hard, but copying and pasting the SOTD text from my SDS results in the line breaks being removed. If I didn’t need this iPad for work I’d sell it in a heartbeat.
