NGL, I will never ever ever take another conservative serious ever again for the rest of my life. I had so many arguments about how very important the constitution was and how we can't help people because it would make the founding fathers cry, and here they are, eagerly dumpstering the constitution, clapping and cheering as it burns.

This is my takeaway post trump: I'm absolutely done attempting to help conservatives grow up or develop empathy or self-awareness, easier to do that with children, and it will make more difference. Arguing with them or engaging in this fake debate bullshit they love is worse than pointless, it's trolling. If you make a good point they will edit the video to make you look foolish, they will absorb zero moral lessons, they will process zero of your actual arguments, worse, they have zero moral hangups pursuant to their ends, so they will resort to tactics reasonable adults wouldn't even consider. I will never have another serious, invested political conversation with someone who voted Chump in my lifetime, I just, sadly, don't take them seriously anymore, much like the POS himself. I really, really tried to see if I could put even a little sense in my closest circle of trump voters after November, at great emotional and interpersonal expense, and, more than ineffective, it actually brought me a substantial amount of resentment for people I still love, and once held a great deal of respect for.

What sucks is how many of them are our ailing parents, likely not to live another decade, and now we gotta look like bad guys for caring more about all of society than just ourselves. I don't know how I'll ever be able to forgive them for the world they have saddled us with.

Happy Mothers Day!

and now we gotta look like bad guys for caring more about all of society than just ourselves.

Fucking for real. It's brutal.

It was a huge revelation to me ~10 years ago that words literarily don't mean anything to them at all, they're just noises they make to get what they want.

You might as well be arguing with chatgpt.

There's nothing magic about the enslavers or their pact except that people worship them.

CPAC licks the great leader

I mean, come on... Even MAGA people have to see a chart like that and laugh at the obvious bullshit. Right? RIGHT??

[–] Comment105@lemm.ee 28 points 3 weeks ago

Some of them, the ones who kind of know he's an idiot but appreciate the work he's doing for racism and general oppression. They can probably tell it's bullshit, but look forward to it being "true" through compulsion.

Hey I got this email in my inbox figured I'd try to fill it out

It required a donation to submit the survey. The data presented here is worth less than the paper it's printed on, and it's displayed on a fucking LCD

He might have ~~truthed~~ lied it yesterday, but it's from February.

And please correct me if I'm wrong, this poll is only from people who attended CPAC right? So not just only Republicans, but only hardcore Republicans?

[–] Geobloke@lemm.ee 25 points 3 weeks ago

This is like asking your mum if you're handsome, then telling your friends

[–] orca@orcas.enjoying.yachts 24 points 3 weeks ago

LOL this is pathetic. “We asked the cult members what they think of their cult leader.”

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 23 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Maybe these are the only ones his handlers allow him to see, since he has items about himself brought to him?

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 8 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Not exclusively I don't think but this is definitely an important aspect of all undemocratic, autocratic leaders: they tend to lose sight of what's real because nobody who dares oppose them or even bring bad news can come close to them. No doubt one reason why we came up with having elections every X years.

My wife once gave me a worlds best husband mug.

This gives me an approval rating of 100%

Suck it, Donny.

[–] Sciaphobia@lemm.ee 18 points 3 weeks ago

Is the 99% in the room with us now?

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 18 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (3 children)

Are we not gonna talk about how it adds up to 200%?

[–] itslilith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 36 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Approve - 99%

  • Subcategory Strongly: 95%
  • Subcategory Somewhat: 4%

Disapprove - 1%

  • Subcategory Strongly: 0%
  • Subcategory Somewhat: 1%
[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago
[–] Wolfwood1@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I was going to say the same thing. Although it adds up to 200%.

[–] boonhet@lemm.ee 10 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I think you're only supposed to add up the agree and disagree, and the strongly and somewhat are subcategories that are shown separately of the main categories.

Bad data representation, but not outright lying here. Where the lie comes in is that you had to be a Trump supporter to even vote. It's based on CPAC attenders, aka politically active MAGAs. The 1% that disagree he's doing a great job probably want him to be doing more of his bs.
