Why the fuck did they use AI for this? Real chess boards aren't exactly hard to come by.

yeah there's a billion stock or public domain photos of chess, or if you want to be cool you could set up the pieces in a double bongcloud and take a photo yourself.

all stock photos are AI now

hypothesis one: pinterest was flooded with AI art and now so is google search

hypothesis two: your boss wants you to use AI. having AI write your article and then having AI make the image makes for two uses out of the 50 in your production quotas.

hypothesis two

Jhezes fuck, this is it, isn't it? They already paid for the subscription so if it doesn't get used it's a waste of money and won't be in the budget next year.

As always, it gets weirder, the longer you look. Is the left horse black or white? Or both? Why is it cut different then the other one? Why are the pieces behind the white ones black too?

tbh anything i search now gives me this ai bullshit and with lots of less specific searches i need to actually scroll a bit before seeing real shit that isnt ai

[–] isame@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

For Google, append -ai to your search.

Because stock images often do charge for their use in articles like this, or at the very least require proper attribution. Using an AI is the easier and lazier way to get that done.

Also wouldn't surprise me if the boss' failson who works as the manager is convinced that they need to go "all in" on AI and demands their writers all use it as much as possible.

good. get this woke dei bullshit out of here. the queen has all the power? chess was made by sweet baby inc to push the radical left wing soros/clinton agenda

thats why i never played it. its not because i dont get it. i get it. i just dont support dei.

[–] huf@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

there's no queen piece in chess though. it's the vizier.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

and those aren't pedos, they're elephants

[–] huf@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

wait, the bishop is the elephant? i thought the castle thing was the elephant.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

huh looks like both rooks and bishops are elephants in different places.

[–] huf@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

and bishops are "runners" in central europe (i think it's central europe). i dont know why.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

we need chess 2 to clean up this naming issue

[–] huf@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago

first we need to purge the reactionary elements from the lineup

[–] ComradeSpahija@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago

But I did not speak, for I was not a gamer.

[–] TommyBeans@hexbear.net 14 points 1 month ago

Chess is bourgeoise anyways, backgammon is the true game of the people.

Backgammon was also banned by the Catholic church so that’s funny, it’s already lived through one religious crusade.
