  • Brush: AP Shave Co. - Red Ivory w/ G5C
  • Razor: Chiseled Face - Legacy Ti
  • Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
  • Lather: Mike's Natural Soaps - Orange, Cedarwood, & Black Pepper - Soap
  • Post Shave: Chicago Grooming Co. - Irving Park - Aftershave

Need to use Irving Park more. Its RG dupes and inspirations are probably my favorite β€œbarbershop” scents.

May 12th, 2025: Near Wedge

  • Brush: AP Shave Co. - Synbad 24mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Joseph Rogers & Sons - Near Wedge (1)
  • Lather: Viking Shaving Soap - Norway - Soap
  • Post Shave: Brut - Brut - Splash On
  • Post Shave: Dove - Men+Care Ultra-Hydra - Cream

I'm still in the process of restoring this Joseph Rogers & Sons near wedge that I bought for $5. Of course I then spent about $12 on Dremel attachments to clean the blade up, plus all the time sharpening, honing, stropping, etc... but for $5 this razor seems to be an absolute bargain.

It didn't pass the packing-peanut test made famous by @gcgallant@sub.wetshaving.social, but it wasn't tuggy at all. In fact, I might even go as far as saying this has been my favorite straight razor shave to date!!!

This shave really surprised me, because after honing it last night I was certain that it wasn't ready to shave with... but I tried it anyway and man... I'm smitten.

  • Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Super Badger
  • Razor: Koraat – r/Wetshaving exclusive Moarteen (15/16", full hollow, carbon steel)
  • Lather: Catie's Bubbles – Connecticut Shade
  • Post Shave: Macduffs Soap Company – Trail Tobacco
  • Fragrance: House of Mammoth – Tobacconist

Lots of Tobacco in this shave. Connecticut Shade is a bit on the sweet side, but followed by Trail Tobacco, and the wonderful Tobacconist, it's a good start.

Great lather and excellent results. Whatever illness I caught over the weekend has moved into my nose/sinuses, so I can't smell a damn thing. Very smooth shave though!

Sinus blockage--;

Get well soon!
