Clone Hero supports MIDI drum kits.
It has like, things on screen to hit for all the bits too? Cause I don't want 4 pads and a kick. I wanna play real songs the real way but with scrolling thingies to make practice fun. I can play drums, I'd just like to also do it as a video game
Honestly I have no idea, I just know it supports drums
Looks like it's capable of supporting a proper setup.
Apparently there's a lack of consistency of the notation for open/closed hi-hat (some overlap open with the ride I think), but it should work fine.
I suck at using the hi hat pedal and just leave it semi open punk rock mode generally, so that's no issue. I forgot that later rock bands had cymbals, I only had the first.
I used Phase Shift a few years ago. It was a little bit of a pain to get setup and the timing working correctly, but there was a lot of pirateable song files for it.
It's basically identical to rock band for drums.
Clone hero is newer, but I haven't tried it
I got this Roll Limitless MIDI Adapter
There may be other variants that cost less, but I got this one and it works perfect. Connect my drums to it and I play Rock Band directly on my Xbox.
You can also connect to a PC or use it to make instruments cross platform by swapping the firmware (or buying a 2nd one). I also use a PlayStation guitar with my Xbox.
