it won't be dolphin is distrubuting private game keys with their emulator that they shouldn't be. however they don't really have an option not to since there is no way to dump your own keys on the wii.
Yeah. I have no love for Nintendo's love of legal action, but they're completely within their rights on this and could have done way more (they might still).
I'm surprised this made it into the source code, I thought Dolphin was a completely clean room project.
there is no way to dump your own keys on the wii.
Is that true? I see a number of projects that seems to say they can dump Wii keys.
Cloud syncs was what I was most looking forward to, since it would have made continuing progress from deck to desktop so much easier.
Fuck Nintendo
seriously. wtf are they doing? do they hate their customers that much? smh
do they hate their customers that much?
yes
Melee players: "first time?"
Well - while I was excited for it, keep in mind Dolphin does indeed bundle Wii decryption keys with the emulator. Yuzu, for instance, won't read games unless you provide a file containing the keys - Dolphin decided to bundle the keys to skip that step, but that does mean it includes copyrighted material.
Dolphin shouldn't have included decryption keys in its code.
Hopefully they release a version without the keys included
