I really hope some leftists are stockpiling arms and weapons.
No, they do not have that power. They are able to detain someone to hand over to the cops, so you might say it's the same difference. Most importantly, military rules of engagement are quite strict, nothing like our police. Can't read the article, but this guy probably wasn't just mouthing off a bit.
Yes, we are, because some of us don't have our head up our ass in regards to gun rights. And BTW, for anyone reading, bullets are far more important than having multiple arms. Guns turn into ineffective clubs when the ammo runs out. And one more thing, better to have 3 or 5 guns that you're really good at than 40 you don't know so well.

He crossed a yellow tape boundary. The article doesn't have a picture of the boundary though, so can't tell if it was obvious, or something that had been poorly secured, was laying on the ground, etc.
He also happened to not only be a citizen in general, but a US Army veteran that earned US citizenship via his service to the country.
Speaking to reporters after he was released, the civilian identified himself as Marcos Leao, 27. Leao said he was an Army veteran on his way to an office of the Department of Veterans Affairs when he crossed a yellow tape boundary and was asked to stop.
Have we reached a point of no return? Because it feels like we’ve reached a point of no return. If the fascists have the most powerful military force on earth willing to take action against the citizenry, then what can actually be done to resist?

Not officially—they’re just making up some other BS legal justification without any merit to say they can do it anyway. But in effect, yes, as soon as the marines are doing law enforcement we are under martial law.
But also yes, because the military is invading it's own country.

What good would that actually do? Half of the nation is gleefully cheering this on.
Hopefully fit a Nuremberg esque future trial, or in the short term, so they fear for their safety everytime they show their face. These fuckers didn't deserve peace.
If the US was some other country with oil the USA would have stepped in by now and sorted this out.
