Eric Trump has hinted that he or another of the Trump family could run for president when his father’s second term in the White House comes to an end.

Eric, who is co-executive vice-president of the Trump Organization, said, the road to the White House “would be an easy one” if he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps.

In an interview with the Financial Times, he said: “The real question is: ‘Do you want to drag other members of your family into it?… Would I want my kids to live the same experience over the last decade that I’ve lived?

“You know, if the answer was yes, I think the political path would be an easy one, meaning, I think I could do it,” he added. “And by the way, I think other members of our family could do it too.”

I mean, the strategy worked well for the republicans the last time. Field the literal worst possible candidate, so that the lazy dems get complacent and start sitting it out in smug virtue signaling comfort instead of, y'know, actually voting, and the moron just gets in by default.

... he's going to win isn't he

[–] hOrni@lemmy.world 10 points 11 hours ago

Yes. If the US still exists by that time.

Isn't he pretty resoundingly useless? At least D has a cult of personality, Eric literally has nothing.

He has been known to have been rushed to the hospital once, because he kinda forgot how to breathe.

[–] MasterBlaster@lemmy.world 19 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah. It'll be easy, because they've rigged all of the vote tallying machines. There's pretty damning evidence that the Trump team hacked a whole bunch of voting machines and changed votes.

This isn't the bit about hacking the UPS's, is it? Because that's not a thing.

Stuxnet delivered RCE payloads over USB. Someone should look into these claims. I haven’t seen anything that wasn’t circumstantial, but I also haven’t seen anything that wasn’t possible.

He couldn’t even wait until the planes had landed to send a tweet about bombing Iran. They included a reporter on war plans using non-allowed comms. This isn’t a secret they could keep. If anything, I’ve always interpreted the fix the election mumbles as being about fixing the electoral system for the future, which they are hard at work dismantling things.

“Easy.” Being the president of the United States is “easy.”

I guess when pa Trump sets such a sterling example, the job must seem effortless.

Easy step because Congress, SCOTUS, and their owners saw to establishing an empire with bloodline empeeors.

Would be hilarious to see a primary with Don Jr., Eric, and Ivanka.

[–] pineapple_pizza@lemmy.dexlit.xyz 14 points 15 hours ago

Yeah until one of them wins

[–] CaliforniaSober@lemmy.ca 3 points 12 hours ago

No it wouldn’t. It’s bad enough.

[–] Balaquina@lemmy.ca 6 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

Both sides are going to eat him alive.

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 5 points 9 hours ago

remember a decade ago when Donald Trump was starting in the primaries and it was a joke.

[–] andallthat@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

I don't know about running for President, but running for his life sounds like a wise choice

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 0 points 9 hours ago

Hard to see that happening. What is the loyal opposition Democrats going to really go after him hard? When he's going to do everything their big donors want him to do? Doubt it. And the republicans? You think they're going to eat him alive? You think they're ambition will cause them to topple him? That ambition is a myth. Every Congressional Republican has shown that they have no problem giving up all of their power and authority. Conservatives are an inherently servile people. They exist to be ruled. They like having a daddy.

I don't know Eric's middle initial but will toss out a guess that it's W.
