The USD is slouching relative to the EU, among other currencies.
I totally forgot who was president between 2021 and 2025. That was when the dollar was relatively high. The president before and after dipped it. If only I could remember the names or affiliation, then I could learn from history.
The dollar's post-COVID strength was largely thanks to the Keynsian economy-wide business bailout the Americans rushed out in the immediate aftermath, while Europe tried to double-dip into austerity and the Pacific Rim went into full lock down.
We kept our economy moving at the expense of 103M confirmed cases and 1.2M fatalities. There's a lot we could learn from the COVID era. But the suffocating miasma of corporate media means Americans rejected all of it.
I ordered a turbo a couple months back for around $1,000.
Currently the same turbo costs $1,400.

Not yet but once I get the money for a new downpipe I think thatβll fix it because my catalytic converter is probably broken since I had a bad misfire and some fuel got into it.

Nope, but I'm not going to assume that most people AREN'T or that it's the anywhere near the main impediment to people in general making ends meet.
Especially not when the bare essentials have skyrocketed in price while wages stayed the same and public assistance got even more difficult to be approved for than the Kafkaesque nightmare it's already been for decades.

I found $170 CAD in monthly subscriptions to cut, I didn't realize it had gotten that bad until I sat down and went over it. Amazed is a good word for it.
Probably could find another $70 monthly if I started cutting some things I prefer to use but have alternatives for (like cutting QoBuz because I have YT Music, PlexAmp).
But yes, inflation has taken a bite and I've started to cut back on unnecessary things.
