My cat would totally cheat on me for more snuggles and cuddles.

Yeah, but not at a Coldplay concert.

That is a true. It would be at a rave instead.

My cat doesn't even listen to Coldplay.

[–] nexguy@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

My cat won't even listen to mid to late 90s British alternative at all.

Mine hates JPop, he gets violent if you play it

I saw all the memes and read the stories but I didn’t see the actual video until yesterday.

Had they not reacted the way they did, none of this would even be a thing.

Who/what is this? I've seen a few memes but no explanation...

This was at a Coldplay concert, I think in Boston. The so called “kiss cam” put them on the Jumbotron. They immediately split apart, ducked, turned around, covered their faces.

Turns out it’s the CEO of some company and the HR director of that company, who is not his wife. The singer even commented something like “they must be having an affair.” Which it seems they probably are.

It's also worth noting that the HR director is also married to someone that isn't him.

do you think that out of all people in the concert and watching at home, none of them knew who they were? And even then, what were they supposed to do to "play it cool", kiss?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 17 points 1 day ago

lol no not kiss.

Notice you are on cam. Remove arms from other person and maybe dance a bit, arms up? Thumbs up? Smile, laugh?

Then no one is going to put that shit on TikTok or YouTube.

Now, is there someone in the venue that recognized you? Maybe. And maybe they will ask themselves “were they embracing eachother romantically there for a second at first?” Maybe. But since it didn’t go viral, they can’t go back later to look at the clip. Then you have some plausible deniability. Oh we were just standing next to eachother. Or it was like when you put your arm around a friend. Or something like that. Then you have an excuse and no one can really double check without this video evidence.

And who the fuck is this asshole anyway? Is he like the Prince of Boston? Does everybody know him there? I’ve never heard of him or whatever shitty company he’s the CEO of. It would have all just been rumor and speculation, which I bet is already happening in their circles if they are GOING TO CONCERTS WITH THEIR FRIENDS.

So that's why coldplay is all of a sudden a hot topic.

Now I am going to assume everyone who brings up hating the band without being asked is a cheating scumbag and/or corpo bootlicker.
