c2c being the name of the train operator. I know it's in the article but it sounds like some kind of acronym in the title.

Although the company never officially said that’s why they picked the name, the name is often though to represent the nature of the route; “City to Coast”, or “Capital to Coast”.

c2c was established in 1996; Southend was given city status in 2022.
