Not sure where you live but it's quite shite in both countries (nonof them tge US) that I call home as well.
Just remember: no matter how bad things seem right now, they can always get worse.
And you probably recognize that happening, and nobody else you know gives a single fuck.
You could warn them, but then they'll just gaslight you until it's undeniable and much too late to avoid, and kind of blame you after it has, because they vaguely associate you with the thing.
Edit: the resebtment; either from them blaming you for some shit because you warned them about it so rhey can't directly engage with their feelings, or you keeping quiet when you know but don't respect them enough to assume they'll care, will eat your relationship from the inside out.
