Then why is he doing his best to ruin the (US) dollar standard and prop up BRICS?

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 15 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Because when the dollar drops, rich people make a lot more money. He said that himself a couple of weeks ago.

When the dollar is dropped, though, the gravy train stops.

Oh I agree, I'm just repeating what he thinks he's doing.

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 3 points 9 months ago

Right?! Everything theyre doing only makes sense if they actually want to destroy the dollar.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 23 points 9 months ago

I have come to expect that everything he says that sounds reasonable, he is doing the opposite. Anything insane is the truth.

Not really up to you. It’s unfortunately going to happen.

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 10 points 9 months ago

More like fortunately, for the vast majority.

It's absolutely up to him and his scions in the US congress. There are tons of policies they could pass, economic investments they could make that would solidify the USD standard for the next quarter century. But they are all short-term capitalists, so they know they don't actually care about the longterm dollar standard benefits.

the fuck you mean 'unfortunately'?
