A federal court has issued a ruling that redefines the boundaries of free speech in the United States. Judge Trevor N. McFadden ruled that ‘desecrating’ the Israeli flag is not political expression but racial discrimination.

The decision means burning, tearing, or grabbing the Israeli flag can be prosecuted as hate conduct. By contrast, the US Supreme Court has long protected the burning of the American flag under the First Amendment.

So the Israeli flag is more important than the US flag since you can burn the US flag. Let that sink in to all the MAGA folks.

I don’t trust them to come to the correct conclusion with that information.

Isn’t burning a flag to proper way to dispose of it without technically desecrating it? I swear i read that somewhere.

You're at least partially correct. Ceremonial Burning is the proper way to dispose of the US flag source. They do specify it should be done in a respectful manner, but a disrespectful burning is protected political speech (until now, I guess).

I had no desire to burn an Israel flag before today.

Time to rekindle the hexbear struggle session:

israel-cool

Can't have a struggle if the mods just ban dissenters who make good points and call them out. Real yikes stuff going on in your thread over there defending this kind of logic.

Oh good lord its a sticky...

Looks like its near unanimous support for changing the emoji even the mods. AFAIK the only person banned was Z_poster and the mods just hate Z regardless if they're extremely correct on this issue. Hell, I've got Z blocked years ago for being a toxic debate bro.

Jewish cabal conspiracy believers eating good with this one. How else do you explain it(beyond the actual reality that americans being against america does not pose any threat to america thus it is allowed; but if enough americans are anti-israel, the weapons might get cut off and it's over for the entity)? Sometimes it seems like the project of zionism is exclusively created to prove antisemites correct.

[–] Grapho@lemmy.ml 6 points 10 months ago

"Ohhhh fuck, why didn't I think of that???"

Average Zionist authority reading Nazi conspiracy theories.

[–] bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 10 months ago

conflating antisemitism with antizionism is their only strategy to justify the genocide so they will try everything in their power to make it seem so.

Oh boy, time to learn about the regional/more localized flags!

edit: for vexillological purposes, of course.
