This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".
Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.

I didn’t beat Elden Ring at lvl 1 with daedicars woe equipped so I’ve never really beat the game apparently

This guy's primary use is wild. Like, why are you just attacking non-hostile NPCs willy-nilly in a game without quicksaving and loading? That's second run behavior, not first run!
Anyway: I am a min-maxing low level invader. I am good enough to solo the games at level 1 to collect everything and then I stay between 10 and 30 depending on the game using shit a normal player won't have.
My favorite setup is in DS3. Level 10, with a Dark Infused 4-Prong Plow (along with rings that are only found in the DLCs and NG+ cycles) dressed like a common Undead Villager and hang out around the Cleric at the big bonfire right at the start of the Undead Village. Even though I am half the size and they are told there is an invader, I surprise so many people here as they attempt to kite out the Cleric.

i got every achievement in elden ring on release except for ranni ending. still don't have it.

I closed the portcullis at dragon bridge on about a half dozen unlucky chosen undead. And introduced probably triple digits of afk chosen undead to the dark hand R2.

But I also invaded upper blight town with a bow.
And invaded sens fortress with great magic shield and a rapier.

For my first ER run I had to summon mimic tear to beat Maliketh, XD. No even Malenia stomped me that hard. Now I wished he had more hp.

I know what you mean, but I wouldn't worry about it. I feel like players shouldn't have to justify a certain way they want to play a singleplayer gamer. It's supposed to be fun :)

I get that. You get to decide how you'd like to be referred to and what you're comfortable with. I'd rather be corrected by someone than use language my vis-a-vis is uncomfortable with or does not identify themselves with :)

Ooh, Voyager doesn't show those so I never knew. I'll check it out on desktop.
Yea one of the main reasons I don't use Voyager, personally, and only Jerboa. Jerboa is also the "official" Lemmy app, so it's quite feature-complete. Some things are missing, like embeddable videos, but that's a small price to pay for customisation. :)
Maliketh is fun becsuae if you go beat Bernhal before him, you get an item similar to Margit/Mohg's Shackle that can parry Maliketh no matter where he is in the room when he uses any attacks that have the yellow effects.

Totally, he bacame one of my favorite fights from the base game once I understood it.
First time I was just not getting it, I didn't even bother with the claw ,I was not staying alive enough. When I turned to the summon the distraction made it too easy, so I didn't enjoy the fight either way.
I have never used the Claymore or the Zweihander

I tried to do a run of Elden Ring without visiting the Roundtable only to accidentally kill Varre, which prevented me from going to the DLC. Also, not visiting the Roundtable prevented me from entering Leyndell. The modern wrong warps didn't seem to work, so instead of finding a workaround, I just gave up on the run and haven't played ER since.
Killing Varre doesn't prevent you from going to the dlc but combined with not being able to pass Leyndell does. There's a small portal on the way to the Haligtree that takes you to Mogh's which now that i think about it makes a lot of sense
I believe the reason most players despise the Sovereign Libra fight is because it authentically emulates the experience of being an invader in Elden Ring. Hostsbare finally getting a taste of their own medicine, and they deserve it.
