In all fairness, it is HIS office, not a conference hall. Idk why they insist on crowding everyone into chairs in that space.
It's a conscious decision to have a large meeting there instead of in a normal meeting room with a large table.

In all fairness, if he gave two bits of a shit this wouldn't take place in there oval office. This doesn't say much about what his future foreign policy will be, but clearly Putin knows how to talk with him and the vassals still expect him to act like Obama or whoever. No chance the Europeans actually wanted to meet there.
