you couldn't find a worse therapist

this is a machine that operates on probabilities. It will just say the things that are the most probable response to the cues it receives from you. Eventually you're going to hear exactly what you WANT to hear, not what you NEED to hear.

And it is trained on the capital fascist system which will reproduce the sick brainworms that led to this catastrophe.

There have been reports of suicides and suggestion of suicide by the bot.

Hard pass!

The very concept to me reads like a schizophrenic breeding chamber that had its plot of land already sectioned off years ago. Under a system like this, this sort of societal insanity is inevitable and I can only look to people who use these language models as therapists with great pity because an actual therapist is incredibly expensive and requires you to shop around before you've found one that works for you.

Give it a few years, ChatGPT will be the only therapist covered by insurance.

I use it to automate the self-help exercises you get recommended in CBT books like feeling good. Basically I hand Claude the entire feeling good book + instructions on how to do the exercises. It's really good at following instructions in finding distortions in my thinking, searching through the book, citing passages etc. I find it super helpful for that. But no, it's not a real therapist, still very helpful if you can't afford one
