"Contains ads" no thank you

[-] ShadowAether@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

Boost has always had ads, it's one time purchase removal

[-] Aaron@lemmy.nz 2 points 1 year ago

If it's anything like Boost for Reddit was, it's unnoticeable. Every 20 or so posts you'll see an ad and just scroll past, no animations or sound. I think I recall seeing a bottom banner? Any other Boost users confirm? I really just ignored it so I can't recall.

My point is, ads were non-obstructive

No waaaaay! The dev said it's not happening, I'm so glad to see he's actually doing it!

[-] IYeetChildren@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I am really excited for this one . Always loved boost .

I saw that "subreddit" was changed to "communties" in the app recently so I was quite certain that a version for Lemmy is being at least experimented with.

[-] blank3468@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I used Boost to browse reddit. I'm definitely getting this when it's out.

[-] mato368@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Are there any good iOS apps coming?

Thank you Ruben!

It seems like the future for Lemmy is pretty bright with all these amazing apps switching over.

It's a shame that Christian decided to not develop Apollo for Lemmy for the time being. I bet that would also convince a fair share of users to abandon ship.

[-] nikzgfx@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Can't wait. Boost is my most used app on Android and this will be great.

[-] MrJukes@lemmy.one 3 points 1 year ago

Nice, Boost was my reddit app of choice

[-] dinckelman@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I am incredibly happy to see this. Boost has been my absolutely favorite choice for a very long time

[-] sma3in@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

[-] DiaryOfJayne@vlemmy.net 3 points 1 year ago

It‘ll be great to see that icon on my screen again! This is amazing!

[-] duckef@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I changed the liftoff icon to the boost icon just to get me through.

I think I currently have 3 Lemmy apps on my phone, currently enjoying Liftoff... But will be VERY likely to go back to Boost if to works On Lemmy :)

[-] Majeed@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Nice! Really hoping BaconReader follows suit soon as well 👍🏻

[-] falconfetus8@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I am super duper excited!

[-] al52025@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I love how a day ago he said he wasn't going to make an app and then changed his mind that quick. So damn excited!

[-] Mr_Dr_Oink@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Great news! I loved boost for reddit.

I still can't believe spez did this. And continues to do this. What a prick

[-] stebo02@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Actually if this causes decentralized social media to get more popular we should be thankful lol

Wow.. I just uninstalled Boost after midnight. Looks like it will be back soon :)

[-] Papanca@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

This is great! I was so sad when Rubén.said he wouldn't develop boost for lemmy. I think he did create a community as a kind of placeholder, so maybe i should go find it again

[-] Graphine@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

That UI....my god it's gorgeous. This is going to be a game changer for Lemmy.

[-] Lonewolf28@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I really like Lemmy so far even though it isn’t perfect yet. Adding a 3rd party app will make using this even easier.
