Thanks for this thorough rundown of YouTube's enshittification and egregious practices. Admittedly, YouTube is the one google thing that I haven't been able to fully abandon and I hate it.

have you tried invidious.io website or freetube linux app? they are really good would recommend if you want to carry on viewing youtube but with full control

I do use a Invidious and Newpipe for most of my Youtube viewing, but afaik they don't support livestreaming, so I have to go on Youtube for that.

Made my peertube.wtf channel yesterday. I had stopped using YouTube when Trump got reelected. With a not-fascist platform I might start uploading videos again.

I totally get you, I'm slowly adopting to a google free environment myself. you guys think Youtube will get proper competitor?

I was not aware how bad some of the new features have made youtube, since I almost never go there anymore "directly", I use alternative frontends like nadeko.net provides, so thanks for posting this. Once this loophole is closed, I will loose my favorite creators forever, if they do not migrate to other platforms, or start blogging like this guy.
