Sadly, NZ has shown that the previous good governance was more a matter of luck and the fact that NZ is so small that it's tricky to do things with anonymity in the shadows

The rise of right-wing arseholes around the world had emboldened these cunts, and the fact that morons like my simpleton father will vote for anyone who allows their bigotry (even though it's to his detriment) means that they're not bothering with secrecy as much as they used to

Being a Kiwi isn't the source of pride that it once was for me

Maybe it should never have been. You should not be proud of an accident of birth.

I hate it when politicians hang around like a bad smell once they leave office, offering opinions that nobody asked for.

Both Key and Brash need to get a hobby.

I thought Key had a hobby, harassing female wait staff ?

Helen Clark is still involved with labour ... It is fairly common.

Is she? Where did you get this notion from?

Every pressure group will claim victory when something goes their way, whether their attempts at influence were effective or not. Gotta give their supporters and donors a feeling that their time/money is well spent.

Maybe Hobson's Pledge is being listened to by the government but I wouldn't take their word for it.

Yeah, hobson's pledge is so toxic I doubt even National will take them too seriously. I very much doubt they had any real effect on this change.
