*saving up all those future purchases in my wish list waiting for that Friday each month *

This is me, bookmarking all the recommendations in this and other music communities so I can listen through and purchase on Bandcamp Friday if I like them.

Yeah, they're going downhill fast :( I think it's still one of the better options available right now for both bands and listeners, but I'm really looking forward to the Bandcamp alternatives like subvert.fm getting off the ground.

I'm also looking into mirlo.space and artcore.com, but both depend on Stripe which isn't great for independent artists.

I vaguely remember hearing that bandcamp was also moving to stripe.

No doubt they are enshittifying. However, for me they haven't crossed the line yet; if they start requiring a login (like Spotify or Tidal do) or if they stop providing full streams for free, then I'll stop linking to them. And at the moment the Bandcamp Fridays still seem like a good deal for the musicians.

I wish there were a better platform where one could donate to musicians directly instead of through shady intermediary. Epic Games is by no means a company you want to knowingly be giving money.
