For my image manipulation, I use paint.net. I've tried other free open source stuff but can't get on with them. I'll gladly give this one a go! Thanks for posting.

Wish paint.net had a linux version. Especially liked it for instant load time
Pinta is my goto replacement for paint.net on linux. It also loads really fast and has most of the basic editing needs covered.
It's not on par unfortunately
