Great, just visiting the US now violates the GDPR

[–] msokiovt@lemmy.today 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What's worse is that y'all have a digital omnibus, which would basically end GDPR. That's nasty, however.

We don't have that yet, and it's harder to pass stuff like it than it is in the US.

For now it's just a corpo wet dream.

Absolutely destroying any notion for community, cooperation or good will, making adversaries out of all nations. America has gone insane.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 29 points 1 week ago (1 children)

America hasn't gone insane, our democracy has been hacked

We are not ok with any of this at an insane level of unity... More than we've had for anything in my lifetime. Congress members are resigning right now in the hopes of saving their careers

We're up against the full weight of the global 1%. They're trying to hollow out our county and leave it as a playground for billionaires

They own the media, the administration, the highest court, and to some extent our law making bodies

This is a disease. It's coming for everyone if it isn't stopped

Yet y'all still shopping at Amazon, using Facebook, giving your wages to the very people that are doing all of this, just living the same as you always have, obedient little consumers. Half of America votes for this and the other half doesn't seem to think it's serious enough to make any significant change in how they live. Your democracy is literally at stake here! It isn't just MAGA that empowers this, it's every American who can't seem to figure out that how they have lived their lives fuels the money that's making this happen.

How cute. You think we have other options?

We don't.

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yes you do. Stop spending money at the companies of the people trying to destroy your democracy. You don't have to Facebook, you probably just don't want to make a sacrifice.

I haven't used Facebook in 10 years. When do I get my democracy back?

[–] msokiovt@lemmy.today 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, thank our Catholic-butt politicians for that. Christofascism is the thing nowadays, and it ain't stoppin' until it's stopped.

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'll thank the American citizen who can't be bothered to fulfill even the smallest iota of their civic responsibility to safeguard their own democracy or prevent the tyranny that sits in the damned white house breaking everything until its irreparable.

Most American citizens will not attempt to even stop the Catholic Church from their plans of control, because they energetically participate by not doing anything. It's a sad state of affairs, really.

The US are slowly becoming Gilead.

[–] Darkcoffee@sh.itjust.works 30 points 1 week ago

Imagine making sure even fewer people visit your country.

Pure madness.

still waiting for the good guys with guns to save America from tyranny. any day now...

[–] Crackhappy@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

I've been waiting with my big gay guns.

Something tells me we’re about to find out how the USA is going to enforce Genetic essentialism.
