This is called push-polling. Where (as the name suggests) it's pushing a paid opinion designed to look like a poll/survey.

Does Australia not have five digit special phone numbers like the US and Canada? If I get a message from a 10 digit number with country code like that, I’ll immediately assume that it’s a scam or at least spam.

Only if I get a message from a 5 digit number sending me a 2FA code or something is that legit.

We have 1300 numbers, they're 10 digits but the 1300 gives it away as some sort of registered entity in the country.

Most of the time my phone doesn't even show a number, but the entity name directly. So I rarely look for the 1300 part any more.

As for the country code, that's ours. So we're not alarmed by it. Usually you get the 04 instead for mobile so it'd be 0418...
