this is so atmospheric. relaxing to look at.

Not sure about the relaxing part...

Instantly reminded me of the "Assault on Thoth Station" episode of The Expanse, where they used interplanetary FedEx containers to sneak a bunch of heavily armed asteroid belt soldiers near a space station to then invade it.

my first thought was ‘wow, i bet it would be a super chill job to be a space truck driver. that planet is beautiful. bet i would get to see a lot of cool shit.’

lol

funny how different minds can go totally different directions.

also, i loved that series. we are rewatching it currently actually- on the beginning of season 3 now.

Have you read the books? They're even better.

And the books had imho a very good and satisfying ending.
Shame they cut the TV series short...

But still love the whole series, book as well as film!

If you're up for a potential new addiction, Elite: Dangerous is a massive space sim game, and space trucking in single player mode is one of my favorite ways to relax. Pop on some Youtube, Netflix, or a podcast. Check in every 15 minutes or so to decel from warp and handle orbit amd landing manually (you can use auto-modules to do it but lose ~25% of warp speed due to "safety protocols", and the auto lander can get stuck in high traffic situations). It's an MMO, but you can choose to just get the econ, politics, and other sim stuff without risking other players ganking you.

If you really want to see neat stuff in it though, you can save up, kit out an exploration ship, and go discover crazy stuff in the unexplored areas of the galaxy. That's kind of mid-late game stuff though, the best ship modules for it involve a shit ton of grinding, and you have to go pretty far outside the core to find undiscovered areas. I want to get into it, but don't have the time.

That would be my biggest complaint with the game: almost all the community guides are made to get you the best, and the best usually involves 10+ hours of grinding. Give me the second or third best, thanks.
