Thank you Thornbury Witch for hosting us today! It was so lovely to have lunch with you and everyone! You're awesome and the Christmas tree pesto bread was amazing!!

Love you and wishing you all a Merry Christmas!!

It was a pleasure Spud. We'll def have to do this again sometime. Enjoyed meeting your partner too.

Merry Christmas to you all! I worked up until Xmas Eve, we did a deep clean of the factory for end of year. My feet were throbbing and my biceps were burning! Then yesterday went shopping for the last minute stuff, wrapped gifts, prepped food, made cheesecake. This morning we did the presents, I cooked lunch, ate cheesecake and then bailed on going out to rellys this afternoon in favour of a couple of hours sleep! Must've needed it. My kids and ExMrP saw the effort I made and they all thanked me privately and individually for making Christmas. I did it! I know a few days ago I was stressing about my workload (you guys were really supportive πŸ₯ΉπŸ˜˜) but once I vented and got over my own performance anxiety I fucking rocked it 😎 And then crashed lol.

It's great to hear you were able to pull off Christmas so well and that everyone noticed. It's the little acknowledgements like that which make all the difference

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 8 points 6 days ago

I love that your efforts were acknowledged, you are such an amazing person for pulling that off, but also knowing you needed some time out. Merry Christmas, Peeler, you're so great!!

Had a great time at Thornbury Witch’s xmas event. My first time meeting anyone from the DT (including from the Reddit days) and it was so nice for this little corner of the internet to come to real life in the way it did.

Sounds wonderful. Wish I could have been there.

Lovely to meet a couple of you guys for the first time, and a couple again! Thanks Witchy for hosting, and the amazing spread 😍

Absolutely awesome Xmas lunch ❀️❀️❀️

The big question is: Did the orphans behave themselves at your table @TheWitchofThornbury2?

[–] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 11 points 6 days ago (1 children)

They did indeed. Mind you, I did insist that they wait until the christmas tree was removed from the oven before they started devouring it. All up, it was a very nice afternoon with good conversation - we ended up not bothering with the board games. I enjoyed the afternoon very much.

Pat on the head for everyone.

My kids are obsessed with intergalactic by the Beastie boys so the present from their great grandfather was a collectible action figure set of the robot and the octopus. It was great to hear them say it was their favourite present when they opened it

On befores for today. Turns out I can pleat (sort of) gyoza at 1am whilst fairly inebriated.

Bout to cook will they HOLD and will they be EATEN or ATE.

Tune in to find out ...

[–] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 5 points 6 days ago

Gyoza report?

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago

There are clamp tools out there that help you close them off if you ever want to make more for yourself

As far as I know I'm not autistic. But I imagine it would feel like when you walk into a chemist warehouse and they have those TVs playing at the end of every isle and they're all playing the same thing slightly out of sync. They all have volume on as well so you don't know which one to focus on and it adds so much aural clutter to an already visually busy store.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 8 points 6 days ago

Nah, that's adhd. Asd is like a monitor on the wrong frequency and it follows you everywhere and you can never stop noticing it. Also no one else can hear it and they don't get why you're losing it.

Food and presents were a hit. All the other people were really nice other than a few of the usual bad'uns. I ignored those ones mostly.

All the kids are growing up so much and are good kids. πŸ™‚

Everyone was surprised I brought a huge trifle. It seems the cousin called husband to tell me to bring dessert and make trifle ( only because he likes my trifle.) Dessert had already been organised. I made trifle for 20 people. Cousin thought it was funny. I'm pissed at him but happy other people had some and liked it. There was still 3/4 left.

I made a new friend in the new doggo. πŸ™‚

Christmas was bountiful.

I have procured

  • new coat
  • several new shirts, jeans etc
  • perfume
  • tiny wee rechargeable blender and selection of protein shakes for fitness gainz
  • enamel pin selection
  • a ceramic wall hanging doodad that looks exactly like Chook
  • a Lions club fruit cake 😁

I'm trying to buy myself a Christmas present and the LG website is not being very cooperative. Happily autofilling the address but then telling me the postcode is invalid. Very rude.

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 6 points 6 days ago

I have survived. Christmas done. Hope everyone had a great day. Sounds like ThornburyWitches do was a success!

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 6 points 6 days ago

Hope you all have had a wonderful day!!! Sounds like Witchy's event was a hit, how lovely of you to host!!

We had a family lunch with Boyo and now I want to gossip soooo bad but am aware I can't say anything to anyone in my IRL sphere!!

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 7 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Santa brought me seven whole hours of sleep for Christmas! Now I'm well placed to stay up all night eating. Hopefully he'll also bring us a peaceful night free of any major Christmas disasters.

[–] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Do you fight fires? Go you!

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Even better, I tell other people to fight fires while I sit comfortably in the office 😁
