Modern Doctor Who has lots of time travel and quite a few queer characters. Its spinoff series Torchwood has a gay main character.

Could be! Has been well over a decade since I watched it, so I couldn't even name any characters other than Captain Jack.

(Ianto silently weeping, having been forgotten)

They all have a touch of the fruitiness at least ;D (Touch Of The Fruitiness, Jack's garage band)

Literally Star Trek Discovery and Strange New Worlds. Discovery is extremely gay, like almost too gay, which is ideal.

Alex Kurtzman created Discovery, SNW, and Fringe, so I’m sure it’s right up your alley aesthetics-wise. I had never seen/watched anything Star Trek-related before Discovery, so don’t feel daunted if you don’t know any background lore.
