I'm actually thinking of switching from Kubuntu to Fedora KDE just so I can get Plasma updates faster lol

Add the backports ppa, that's what I do. Currently on Plasma 6.5.4 on Kubuntu

But will it autoconnect to Wireguard VPN?

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Pretty sure you can already do this

[–] BlackLaZoR@fedia.io -2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Except it doesn't work. You can set the option in the connection manager, but it will fail. Hopefully this gets fixed in 10-15 years

Huh, I accidentally set mine up in a way that worked once. I do not remember how though.

@BlackLaZoR @schnurrito That is not a function of a UI - that's a function of NetworkManager (or whatever network stack your distro uses).

As for WireGuard - it does that automagically across all platforms and all network stacks I've used it on so far - so if it's not doing it for you, then you got something screwed up somewhere else, deeper down.

Uhm, I did do that and it did work

Yeah, the VPN thing is so basic. Why does it bother to tell me that the VPN’s dropped after I wake my laptop up, just reconnect.
