Imagine being so unprincipled that your opinion on foreign intervention changes by the month. Pathetic.

Living this in Europe with regards to militarism since 2022 has been immense whiplash. All the "principled antimilitarists" I knew suddenly pushing for increased military expenditure. Fuck this shithole

I have a strict rule with my reactionary mom not to talk politics but there is a very strong temptation to break it just to talk shit knowing she is very likely not being principled at all.

The performative "anti-war" stance from the Right always been contingent on the idea that war is bad because it weakens America or at least makes it look weak. Boots on the ground getting slimed by guys in Adidas pants with improvised weapons during a ceaseless insurgency across a decade, with no clear objectives? Bad. Orchestrating some Looney Tunes operation to kidnap a foreign head of state and killing 80 people in the process (who are extra expendable, being foreign, brown and "communist"), all while making off with their resources like bandits? Good.

It demonstrates the lopsided might of the empire (however eroded it has been since Iraq) and flaunts its diplomatic impunity, which is sugar to short-sighted hogs who think stuff like soft power and tact is for sissies. Sure, you can argue how these theatrics in some ways do the opposite and make America look more erratic and desperate but that won't work for people conditioned to worship the superficial visage of "strength".

They will simply regurgitate whatever their media sphere is saying at any given time. They don't want another trillion dollar, 20 year boondoggle, but they would certainly go to bat for it if Trump and his media arm start hyping it.

Trump was only claiming to be peaceful to differentiate himself from the other neocons and fit the narrative that the former leadership was swindling the people and hurting America.

They will be back to "kill them all" very shortly.

Republicans always loved war, the right loves murder, it's practically the only thing they think about

Them being "Anti-War" is performative slopshit because they don't want a higher power sliming their goofy asses

The fascist who murdered Renee Good already has a 140K gofundme

Republicans love murder and genocide

Maybe Schumer will talk to the Baileys and they'll tell him for the sake of the midterms "THE DEMOCRATS MUST SAY 'GET GREELAND!'"

"Senator, we also think GET GREENLAND in Democratic Party Blue would be great on merch. Perfect match in fact."

[–] TrustedFeline@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago

Fuhrer Newsom will turn Greenland Blue!!

I should’ve known those rats are pro genocide but like to hide behind the law and "legal methods" to pretend they want peace
