Soulslike - Discussion, News, Memes

This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".

Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.

Basic Lemmy-quette applies. Additionally, since flairs don't exist yet, please do make sure to include a marker to denote what game your post is about in square brackets for clarity's sake. An example could be:

[BB] This enemy is so difficult!

or

[DS1] Anyone struggling with the gargoyles?

There ain't no unlimited use invasion tool, and farming them is both annoying and also fucks up your SM. How can I be bad red man if they don't give me bad red man balls? 😩

DS2 introduces a lot of great things, but SM was not one of them. It unfortunately limits the amount of fun you can have on a single character. You can use that ring that takes all the souls, but that's probably the only workaround.

Oh... I had forgotten about that ring. That should take at least the SM woes out of farming. But not the time or bonfire aesetics. 😭

It really is insane that DS2 has both the least limited multiplayer as it is not constrained by location (like where you will be sent when you use stuff not that there are no non-MP areas), level or weapon upgrades but also the most limiting simultaneously because of Soul Memory.

SM is dogshit even though I am fond of DS2. The Brotherhood of Blood arena is a good place for PvP though. Still quite active.

System? I know on PC DS3 there is a vendor mod that gives you items, is there something like that in DS2 possibly?

I do recall seeing someone mention a mod that makes Cracked Eye Orbs of either color unlimited use. However I am not sure how this would affect the player count. Like, would I only connect to other people using that mod?

Check this one out

Can this soft-ban me? No, the mod works around the in-game anti-cheat and is undetectable.

  • Invasion overhaul, where using the cracked red eye orb will search all maps for potential invasions, as opposed to just the place you're in, similar to the Wex Dustο»Ώ** mod for Dark Souls III
  • The cracked red eye and blue eye orbs are no longer consumed on use

The mods focused on anti-cheat too, so it'd be odd to require everyone to have it

Oh sweet, it's also basically got Blue Sentinel for DS3 included as well. πŸ˜ƒ
