Instagram is especially annoying pooprietary software, so I don't want any of my things to be Instagram-exclusive. Initially, my strategy to mitigate incentives for viewing my Instagram account instead of my Lemmy account was just to not make Instagram-exclusive posts. Then I realized that this results in curation and reduced clutter that are both Instagram-exclusive, so now "dullbananas highlights" on Lemmy will be the exact same set of posts that's on Instagram.
Notice how he didn't say "with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun drawn". The guy was legally carrying and not threatening anyone with a weapon.
At this rate, I'm surprised they didn't accuse Renee Nicole Good of driving a vehicle loaded with explosive material (gasoline).
That's the exact trick they're doing over and over again.
They take two facts.
And then they combine them into a sentence that is factually correct but misleading in the context that it is being used.
'He approached the ICE agents with a firearm'
The fact that the agents didn't know about the firearm until after they decided they wanted to beat up a protestor isn't mentioned at all.
It's lying by telling the truth, a flavor of misinformation and one of the core elements of these fascist's rise to power. Their target demographic has always been the ignorant and uneducated who are unable to understand the tricks being deployed against them.

Like "Trump approached the minors with his penis". Oh, wait, bad example.
I think that Trump is too mush brained to be able to do things like this. It appears, to me, like he's being handled by 'his' staff so that they can control all of the big domestic issues.
You can see when he speaks on the topics he doesn't appear to actually be informed in a way that you would expect the President to be if he were central to decision making. It's like they've left him a few toys to play with, like foreign policy (which, as white nationalists, they do not care about ruining) and soliciting bribes for pardons/federal contracts while they try to implement white supremacist utopia.
The lead on this is Stephen Miller (the egg headed white supremacist official hiding in a military base). AG Pam Bondi and DHS Secretary Christie Noem (and their underlings, like Bovino) are the ones pushing his policy through the bureaucracy and running the operations.
Yeah the president is gone, the leave him alone with his enemy, like mamdami, or Petro of Colombia, guys the party has him publicly wanting to take down, and he's best pals with them after 20 minutes. It is kind of funny really.
Half of their target demographic is people that pretend to believe their bullshit and go along because they think they will benefit.
Everyone should just start spamming "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" on mainstream social media (lol what ever happened to that sentinment?)

It's even worse than the picture implies. Alex walked away from that confrontation, and then later ICE assaulted a woman in front of Alex. Alex was helping her while she was falling over. ICE didnt like him helping her so he decided to pepper spray both of them. ICE thugs jumped Alex during this and then executed him. There was zero confrontation, just murder.
I think of the quote by Mr. Rogers during moments of tragedy: find the helpers. ICE executed the helper. There is zero ambiguity what happened here.
Now imagine if someone had sniped the ICE agent. Every force department would be searching for this highly dangerous criminal.
You are correct. However if a sniper was able to take out a gravy seal in such an environment, I would suspect that the sniper had a means to disappear.
The noise that observers create would make it REALLY hard to identify the location, unless someone saw the flash.
Sadly, while the sniper is gone, we get a Luigi situation. They will waste a ton of resources finding someone to blame, and that person is now guilty in the eyes of the regime.
