You're looking at a server but correct me if I'm wrong but there is a difference in graphics cards that you would use for heavy 3d modeling and gaming so you'd have to choose which is the most important of the two.

That said I feel as though this is why people generally have a gaming PC and then say a PC which is used for home entertainment.

I personally have a NAS on my network, just basic with 2TB of storage which is used by home devices to backup important stuff and host media, a media PC for the main TV, a gaming PC and then my work laptop.

Of course some sort of all in one system which can do it all and is running VM's for separate functions sounds awesome but that would surely be very expensive. On top of this have you ever heard the fans which come on servers? Good luck finding somewhere to put a server in your house which is going to stay cool enough that it doesn't overheat and somewhere where the noise isn't an issue.

This always baffled me when I had a friend who showed me his Plex server years ago.

So you're using a service which makes it easy for you to host and access everything wherever you are, pulls in all the metadata for shows and movies and you're not worried about them tracking all of that?

When I finally set my own up I used Jellyfin from the start, I prefer as little tracking as possible but thats just me

Like the sentiment against this company was already in the pits, $1.4b unaccounted for is terrifying if you're a shareholder. I can't believe more people aren't dumping this stock as quick as possible.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll definitely make the switch, I've definitely noticed .world seems to be a lot more closed off than some other instances

Wow so the solution is to do nothing, seems oddly convenient for a certain group of people

Deporting doctors, unbelievable.

I used to think it had some potential use case many years ago. But now I totally agree with your statement.

Its just a big scam and a waste of time and energy.

Something similar happened to me in Prague too! Why is Prague so prevalent for taxi scams?

Knowing what a privacy nightmare all meta apps are, I'm wondering if there is an alternative option which is more privacy friendly but still has some of the ease and simplicity of some features such as messenger.

I already know there will be friends I can't convince and thats fine, I may just have to accept that. But if I could avoid using it as much, I'd really like to.

So I kind of impulsively bought a Steam Deck OLED this weekend, I hadn't really done much research and I haven't really played any games in about 15 years.

Now I have to wait for it to be delivered and, I'm worried this is something I'll use a few times and forget about it.

What's something you impulsively bought and fell in love with?
