Yay my pay fell out of the cloud finally and into my bank account! πŸ€ΈπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ Thankyou for your kind words this morning guys, it really helped me emotionally!

hugs

I really dislike employers who leave employees hanging. 🀬You've done your work. They should pay. It's not your problem how they do it. And it's a moral issue too, people have families and bills. You do not know if children will go hungry pr without medical care. It's just unacceptable.

That's great to hear. I hope they fixed the system so it's always on time now

[–] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 6 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Ditch the tofu for snozzages.

Dinner is done.

I made pasta al limone, with fried salmon and a salad with lemon-yoghurt dressing. It was rather tasty. I've been trying to do more pasta sauces that are not tomato based, this definitely fits the bill.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 5 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Hey I did linguini limone last night too! No protein though.

Still haven't gotten my pay πŸ˜• It's in the damn cloud somewhere. Had to transfer money out of my kids bank accounts to cover direct debits. I feel deeply ashamed.

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

There’s no shame, it’s keeping the water and lights on that they also use and you’ll pay it back.

I’m wondering if Mr P is contributing to the household expenses. Because now would be a great time

Edit: I found this for emergency help with essentials, fingers crossed your pay comes through soon but if not https://ndh.org.au/debt-solutions/emergency-assistance/

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 8 points 3 days ago

There is no shame to be had. You are doing what you have to, and the money will be back in theirs as soon as it hits your account. Its nothing you've done and beyond your control.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

You've got great kids. I'm sure they'll understand.

I'm sending this out to the cloud - HURRY UP WITH THE FUCKING MOOLAH

I hope this helps. ❀️ 🀞

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Thankyou. Listen, cloud, listen!

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 8 points 3 days ago

This is the one time when yelling at clouds is socially acceptable.

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

That sucks. Your boss knows its late, doesn't he? Is there anything he can do from the payroll side?

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 6 points 3 days ago

All he knows is the money has gone from his account. There was an industry outage affecting merchant payments to external accounts earlier this week, so it's been caught up in that somehow.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 7 points 3 days ago

That was an especially poor dishwasher cycle.

Felines have forgiven us for visit to the PokeyPlace. Unfortunately TheVoid needs to return for a dental clean

I thought I was too late planting my snow peas and that they would die in the heat before managing to produce anything, but instead I have the first pods on the vine now! I also have the zucchini and squash on the verge of production and some cherry tomatoes at the flowering stage.

Yay, managed to swap my shitty late shifts for both today and tomorrow πŸ™reasonable working hours ftw

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I’m annoyed I got rid of a cooling elevated mesh pet bed that was too high for Melbcat to comfortably step up onto. This furry lil dude could have used it.

spoilerTrying to work out how to rig some shade cloth or shade sails that won’t cause damage with weight/a gust of wind and don’t count as a β€˜fixture’. As a bonus it would shade the window.

I considered one of those big freestanding umbrellas but they are quite expensive, bulky and too heavy for me to move or assemble.

Where breakfast?

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago (2 children)

New guy in the costumer service team at work. I think I remember seeing him being interviewed. I wonder if he'll last longer than the other woman that just left one morning. He's young so I think he'll take to it pretty well.

He's also really tall, like really tall. I wonder if I should tell him that? I wonder if anyone's pointed it out to him before?

Fire drill successfully run at work. I always haaaate doing it, but it took less than 2 minutes this time but another 2 minutes to write up the report. Helps that I had to give the heads up that it was happening this time.

trying to get Ted vaccinated attempt 2 🀞

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 8 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Vaccination done.

First there was a huge fight for him to take his sedative, he nipped me and chucked up.

At the vet the nurses tried to pat him, even after we said not to. he did not like it. But then they wrapped him up in a towel and gave him his shot near his bum. So success. πŸ™‚ Right now he's still a bit wobbly and is resting.

So for Ted the past week has been good. He weighed in at 1.25 kg less than a year ago, he's had his fur trimmed and brushed so no more mats and knots and had his shots. 😻😻😻
