Are there any good publications to get news about China, or are you constantly having to read the lines through western publications.? One feed I'm adding is https://socialistchina.org/, they seem pretty good, and exclusively focused on China.

Give me your suggestions. These stories will be federated to the All feeds of something close to 50+ instances (including places like .world).

El Popola Ĉinio ("From The People's China") is an Esperanto-language publication based in China and I believe (at least historically?) supported by the Chinese government, aimed at international audiences and the Esperanto community in China. You're probably only interested in English-language news sources but I might as well mention EPĈ anyways, since it's at least more accessible to Western audiences than publications in Chinese, and if people get more exposure to Esperanto then that's only a good thing.

huh yeah that's cool. I am looking for English-language sources. Lots of the .cn news sites that report in English have zero RSS feeds, which is super disappointing!

Do you mean like Chinese state media? The main state media outlet is Xinhua. There's also Global Times, China Daily, and CGTN.

There's also the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It's like the White House Press Pool but for China. They do a press conference every week day at around 3 am EST and they publish the transcript at around 7 am EST.

Not necessarily Chinese state media but I'd totally add some of these. For some reason none of these places have RSS feeds. Maybe I'll go through the verification process with xcancel so I can use their RSS feeds.

I guess I'm simply looking for places writing about China but without all the brain worms.

okay so I'm noticing that these RSS feeds haven't been updated for a long time.

Ah yeah their in non standard locations that's why I couldn't fins them. But I've seen that too where when you DO find them they are very out of date.

Qiao Collective has recently started publishing again, although they are more news editorial than news-news.

There's CGTN but it isn't exclusively news about China, there's a fair bit of fluff, but the real problem is their penchant for platforming larouchites.

Qiao Collective looks like something that would be cool add. I've noticed that about CGTN, the whole larouchite thing. Funny, I don't think either of these have RSS feeds either.

I really don't understand why. It's such a fringe thing and there's no good reason for them to interview someone like Robbie Barwick, who is the Australian Ron Paul except without any of the public profile or notoriety.

The same can be said for them giving a platform to fucking Haz, although Haz has a decent footprint on social media. It's still bizarre though and it feels like there's a piece of the puzzle missing I'm missing.
