What did everyone think about the trades?

Any that shocked you?

The fact that first three comments don't mention the Cavs says it all about Cle and its absurd GM and Koby Altman.

"The lights were too bright" Cavs adding the most notorious game 7 choker is pretty funny.

Cavs reek of desperation. They are (where?) still young and had like 2-3 years to figure it out or at least make a better trade.

Clippers cooked this deadline. Kind of gob smacked at how young and still good they should be.

They sold high. Clips are on a 12-2 run and where looking good, just like every year though. Got way younger and got a few picks, I'd say the Clips are the biggest winners this trade deadline by far.

Yeah I like their moves, feel like there doing what they can to sort out the future so it’s not as grim as it was looking

Not too surprised Giannis stayed since the offers will be better in the summer.

JJJ and AD getting traded to where they did was definitely a surprise though. Also surprised Ja didn’t get moved but the market for him is the lowest it’s ever going to be so guess it makes sense to try and get more this summer.

Seeing what the Mavs got for AD makes the Luka trade even worse. They ended up with basicly 3 late 1st rounders, Max Christie who's OK, a bunch of trash, and like 25 games of AD healthy. Just wild.

It 100% looks worse lol. Saw somewhere it means the Luka return was basically the same as JJJ but the Mavs got lucky (or given) with the pick that got Flagg.

Tanking teams being buyers was unexpected to me, idk how JJJ fits in Utah or AD in DC but we'll see. Trae and AD happening in DC instead of Atlanta is kinda funny.

CP3 to the Raptors is funny and sad, dude just wanted to have his retirement tour lol. We'll see if he even gets to play in Toronto.

In the one game sample size I'm still upset about the Ivey trade. We'll see if Huerter can shoot better next to Cade. The Pistons still employ Caris LeVert too ugh. They need to pay Daniss what he deserves too.

The Hornets and Wolves definitely got better. Ayo lowkey helps more than Giannis because they didn't have to trade literally everyone. They took Conley away from Chris Finch too lol. The Hornets don't really need Coby White but I don't hate it and they've been cooking lately. Oh and Vuc to the Celtics is huge, there was no way Garza was gonna work in the playoffs and with Tatum potentially coming back it makes me worried. Depending on post-achilles Haliburton, the Pacers with Zubac might be even better in 2027 than 2025. We'll see what happens with their first this year though.

Yeah the tanking teams getting stars was a fun surprise, we’ll have to see how it works out next year.

Heard raptors aren’t gonna make CP3 report so we’ll see if he’s a buyout candidate. Not sure who takes him tho.

Yeah I feel like Vuc to the Celtics is bigger than it seems just since they had no one good to play center and have still been doing pretty well so far.

I don't understand the Warriors trading for Porzingis. Curry and Draymond (and Butler) are on the wrong side of 35, so their time in the league is coming to an end and injuries are going to keep increasing in frequency. A sensible move would be to build a consistent core that can go on win streaks when the veterans are able to suit up and keep the ship afloat when they cannot. Porzingis is a very gifted and skilled player, but the only thing consistent about him is his ability to find his way onto the injury report.

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 1 points 4 days ago

I don’t either lol I kept waiting to post it cause I was waiting for the rest of the details and that was just it.

I get Kuminga wanted out but there had to be something better and if not let him have a run the rest of the year then to improve his worth, think there was still a year left on his contract right?

A little over a month ago, I was calling for Frank’s head and look what he managed to pull off.

Just goes to show that what it looks like from the outside is much different from the inside.
