On Android:
- Boost - doesn't load.
- Voyager - plays fine
- PieFed PWA - plays fine
- Interstellar - just a link to play in the browser
- Blorp - plays fine
- Jerboa - plays fine
That's all I have on my phone to test.

MODERATORS
Thanks! Seems like it mostly works on Android but is limited by app support.
Chrome:
- lemmy&Alex UI: you have to open the link so the audio channel plays
- tesseract: plays.
Thanks! Wasn't aware it behaved differently in Chrome. On Firefox, it seems to play with the audio just fine.
This video is AV1. If it doesn't play, please let me know what Lemmy/PieFed client you're on.
It's showing "failed to load media 😢" on the Voyager app (iOS).
(Could location be a factor? 🤔)
How about this one? This one is VP9.
edit: I'm getting "failed to load media" on Android. I think Voyager doesn't load videos in comments.

Doesn’t load on Mlem for iOS.
AV1 is a weird format. I can play it on my Mac. I can play it on my iPhone in OutPlayer (like VLC but better, like you can have folders). But I don’t think any Apple products feature hardware decoding of it. It can be played though.
