Got my charger sorted thanks to help from here. I cancelled my appointment about possibly getting a hysterectomy. My bladder is still bad, the doctor prescribed more drugs but the listed side effects are terrible, I'm not going to take them. Now my eczema has flared up very badly on my hands it's driving me mad. My really good E45 eczema cream got discontinued. The zerobase the doctor prescribed in its place is rubbish. My hands are red, cracked and so itchy now. E45 have put out a new eczema cream but it's expensive and doesn't seem to be available on the NHS. Oh well, that's capitalism for you. The things that work are expensive and inaccessible to the masses.
disabled
Welcome to c/disabled, an anticapitalist community for disabled people/people with disability(s).
What is disability justice? Disability justice is a framework of activism which centers disabled people of multiple intersections. Before participating in in this community, please read the Ten Principles of Disability Justice.
Do I count as disabled/a person with disability(s)? "Disability" is an umbrella term which encompasses physical disabilities, emotional/psychiatric disabilities, neurodivergence, intellectual/developmental disabilities, sensory disabilities, invisible disabilities, and more. You do not have to have an official diagnosis to consider yourself disabled.
Follow the Rules:
- This comm is open to everyone. However, the megathread is only open to people who self-identify as disabled/a person with disability(s). We center the experiences of disabled people here, and if you are abled we ask that you please respect that.
- Follow the principles of disability justice, as outlined in the link above.
- Zero tolerance for ableism. That includes lateral ableism. Ableism will result in a ban.
- No COVID minimization.
- Do not offer unsoliticed health advice. We do not want to hear about the wonders of exercise or meditation, thank you very much. Additionally, do not moralize health or "healthy choices".
- If posting an image, please write an image description for our blind/low vision comrades. (If doing this is inaccessible to you, DM one of the mods and we will help.)
- Please CW and spoiler tag discussions of ableism.
- When it comes to identify-first vs person-first language, respect the language that people choose for themselves. If someone wants to be referred to as a disabled person, respect that. If someone wants to be referred to as a person with a disability, respect that.
- Try to avoid using ableist language. It is always good to be mindful of the way language has been used to oppress and harm people.
- Follow the Hexbear Code of Conduct.
Let's kick back and have fun!
As of December 2025, there is a Matrix Chat Room that adheres to the same rules as the community. If you want to join, it is an invite only server. Just knock to join. Should you have trouble with the link, you can contact the mods for help: https://matrix.to/#/#Hexbear_Disabled_and_ND:matrix.org
I just learned that my grandfather has Parkinson's Disease which is giving him dementia. My uncle (who himself is aging) is living with him to help out, but he may need some additional assistance from my immediate family.
MY friend James died. He was a marvelous beam of sunlight. This song i've put together is meant to simulate him jovially lifting me out of some depressive pit. Rest in peace Jimbo
sorry for your loss.

Got my urine test results back today. There is no UTI but the symptoms are as bad as ever. The nurse said it must be irritable bladder syndrome. I've begged to be referred to a urologist before but was refused. I guess I just live like this.
I want to seek an ADHD diagnosis because whatever attention problems I have are borderline ruining my life but I afraid I either dont have it, or the treatment wont help me
Im still going to try but im worried itll take so long to see any results, if I see any, that too much damage will have been done and ill still get fired
I used to be suspected of having ADHD when I was a schoolchild. Turns out it was autism.
It has been a while since I've posted in the comm, but I'd like to think that I'm doing better than I last was. It's been bumpy, is still bumpy, but my issues with anxiety have gotten much better, and I'd say depression as well. Sensory stuff has been a bit hell, but hey that's just the usual.
I know things suck more often than not, but know that you are loved and that you matter. Stay beautiful, comrades.
