The system can identify aerial threats at distances of over 450 kilometers

It will have to be somewhere up high, because otherwise it could never get a decent range due earths curvature. Even at 3000m elevation with no obstacles in your line of sight you only get ~200km line of sight. For high flying airplanes its slightly less of an issue, but for low flying drones that is a real problem.
