It costs $20 to go to the cat cafe for 30 minutes. Yeah nah. If this thing we've got going on goes well, I'm taking the guy to the Cat Protection Society or the dog cafe I have at home :)

That sounds nice. πŸ™‚

I saw the moon thing. Yeah it's red. It's great. I'm going to bed.

[–] tone212_@aussie.zone 3 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

This prompted me to check outside again, the clouds cleared and I can see it now. It's ok.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 2 points 5 hours ago

It’s great. I’m going to bed

Saw more enthusiasm for my 4th birthday partay where no one rocked up.

Got a new phone I'm setting up. I didn't intend on getting a new phone now but Xiaomi had this deal where you could get one of their hadnheld vacuum cleaners for $1 if you bought the phone so I bit the bullet.

It actually works out for me because I was intending to buy that exact model of vacuum cleaner. It's going to be half actual vacuum and half toy for the kids.

I cannot see the Moon with cloud cover, and it is compounding the feeling of not being where I am meant to be.

The skies cleared! Taking this as a message that good things take time, including where I need to be.

I might go down to the beach to see. πŸŒ‘

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 2 points 6 hours ago

I'd appreciate that, as the cloud cover where I am prohibits viewing πŸ™Always, always there is a cloudy night when something significant like this happening in the sky. Miniest and I have had enough! Thumps table

Movie discussion. Enid. Biography of Enid Blyton with Helena Bonham Carter.

1 hobbit because costumes were nice.

Was very disappointing. So trite. Sounded like a good pitch.

As someone who grew up reading her books I wanted to know about her stories and inspiration. I don't care about her affairs at all and neither does anyone else, as shown by the fact this movie bombed even though it was about one of the worlds most successful authors ( who sold more than 600 million books )

I feel HBC is one of those people who always plays themselves.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 6 hours ago

I think you're right. She is completely unable to change mannerisms or speech patterns.

even so, imo the problem with the movie was the story.

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 10 points 15 hours ago

I had an inkling this morning and ignored it and now I'm having to use pens to pin my hair back because sure enough, my hair tie broke. Don't ignore your gut!

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 7 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

Another day of begging for work and being ignored.

I have a final interview and 2 firsts tomorrow.

Edit: spent 4 hours with nothing to do so I watched YouTube.

Cheesy pofferjes are working well. Now the challenge is not just eating them all myself.

I started off trying to spoon the mix into the tray, but it was a bit labour intensive so I've put the mix in a bag so I can pipe them which is a lot easier and quicker.

These are the ones that made the cut for afternoon tea. There are also lots more for me to snack on, but I'm going to put them in the freezer to stop me eating them all at once.tray of pofferje

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

those look so delicious

when can we come over?

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 5 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Any time's fine with me, you'll just need to clear it with Mr Woof first, as he's in charge of security.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 8 hours ago

I'll come bearing gifts. πŸ™‚πŸ₯©πŸ¦΄

Two more days before a 5 day weekend.

Politely reminding the boss so he's not shocked Thursday morning.

So, I quit my call centre job. Had to go back to my psych after a mental health crisis and she advised that call centres are prolly tied to some trauma (most of my exp was while I was with my ex).

So I quit. My mental health is more important, even if it might take me longer to get where I want to go.

I'm kind of okay with this. It takes a special kind of person to sit tied to a phone and PC for 8-12 hours a day, and it's okay that I can't do that anymore.

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 3 points 6 hours ago

I'm glad you're ok now πŸ«‚

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 12 hours ago

so many hugs

looking after mental health will help you get to your goals quicker

You made the right decision ❀️

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 6 points 14 hours ago

You had to make the right move for yourself. I see the people who do customer service here and I couldn't do it. The day is too structured and rigid for me, and people don't realise how exhausting being on the phone can be. You've done an amazing job sticking it out for as long as you have

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 6 points 17 hours ago

Good on you for recognising that it wasn't benefitting you.

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 7 points 18 hours ago

πŸ€— You gave it fair shake of the sav, no-one can ask for more. Agree about the mental health bit.

Beef rendang is in the slow cooker and it smells amazing.

house inspection done

house is really clean tidy as always, so inspection not too bad, it really is a good house to live in and the agents are ok

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 5 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Picked up some playing cards and dice for minigames at trivia. I'm getting bored of heads or tails so I want to mix things up a bit. I'm thinking we could try dice poker from The Witcher soon, it's easier than regular poker because it doesn't have the suits

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 3 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

I second this

Apparently my iron and vitamin D levels are now normal. But my naughty cholesterol levels are too high. Prescription: fish. Oily fish. or fish oil.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 3 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

Just had my bloods done and everything is fine (sugar and cholesterol especially) but iron is a bit low.

More spinach and legumes I guess (also GP sent a referral for an abdominal ulstrasound just in case)

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 5 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

Maltopher iron pills are much nicer on the gut than Ferrograd if you try them. Spend the few bucks more on the Maltopher.

I had to use Maltopher after cancer diagnosis - they were HORRIBLE! Extra spinach or other iron rations are FAR PREFERABLE. The weird shit they caused really freaked me out along with the explosive effects. Though I have to admit that might have been because my digestion was seriously compromised at the time.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 5 points 12 hours ago

Thanks for the advice. I'll grab some this weekend.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I've got an abdominal ultrasound too! They were booked up until the end of March, so I guess they are trendy at the moment

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 3 points 14 hours ago

Still unsure when mine is, referral only sent today. I had a gastro and colonoscopy last year, so not too concerned.

Managed to maintain a minuscule level of vaping despite being in the office.

That spray thing is a godsend.

Defs has made a huge difference in my singing.
