Tried two different cups on two different day. While Costa Rican coffees tend to have a bit of a kick to them, this was bland. Like a bland spice coffee. You need to go deep, like two tea spoons just to make a half decent cup. Either that, or I drink really strong coffee. Either way,I will pass next time.

If you're looking for a bird friendly coffee, this one is wonderful:

That said, it's hard to beat fresh roasted coffee from a local business. When I buy stuff that was roasted within the last week, it's just stupid good and very flavorful.

No, I'm just experimenting. Not looking for anything in particular. Today I try this tomorrow I try something different and share my opinions and get brew tips. I will definitely look that one up when I am getting more coffee.

Bland? Needs more water contact maybe? Tried pouring slower, grinding finer or both?

Yeah. Not so much success there. The coffee's profile is just not all that.

if it tastes bland, try grinding finer
