You don't have to be a "tankie" to criticize Mamdani and his half arsed agenda that he constantly abandons. Such as keeping the far right police chief, tempering his criticism of israel, supporting hakim jeffries against a proposed primary, reinstating homeless encampment sweeps and on and on. Hell he doesn't support workers control of the means of production hardly a socialist in any real sense.

Documenting hate speech, conspiracy theories, apologia/revisionism, and general tankie behaviour across the fediverse. Memes are welcome!
What is a Tankie?
Alternatively, a detailed blog post about Tankies.
(caution of biased source)
Basic Rules:
Sh.itjust.works Instance rules apply! If you are from other instances, please be mindful of the rules. — Basically, don't be a dick.
Hate-Speech — You should be familiar with this one already; practically all instances have the same rules on hate speech.
Apologia — (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether it be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism, Islamic Terrorism or any variation of Tankie Ideology.
Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users, as it handwaves their extremism.
Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post, rather than engaging in arguments that lack mutual agreement.
Brigading/Trolling — If you're here because this community was linked in another thread, please refrain from maliciously voting, commenting, or manipulating the post in any way. This includes alt accounts. All votes are public, and if you are found to be brigading, you will be banned. Good-faith and honest communication is an exception.
Tankies can explain their views, but may be criticised or challenged for them. Any minor infraction of the rules may result in a warning and possibly a temporary ban.
You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically last only 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction doubles the duration. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.
Its a fair take, but it really says more about how much work we have to do. Tankies are basically saying that the task is so huge we should not even try in their critiques of Mamdami and voting to grow the number of progressive politicians we could have.
Note that this does not mean we stop other forms of organizing.
Tankies just want their own dear leader to oppress people under.
I don't think they want anything - they just like to shit fling.
They're what happened to the worst, most contrary child you had in your school after they grew up and stopped having a forced audience to antagonize.

Naa they think they will be the dear leader and run everything, not realizing they'll be the ones in the gulags.
mls 🤝 attacking non ml leftists because they prefer fascism to non ml leftism
true in spain, true in germany, true in the usa, true in all centuries, get mad nerds
By what definition is "ml leftism" not an oxymoron?
Seating arrangement.
Not even joking.
I forgot to block Lemmy.ml, responded to a meme, and had several genocide-denying tankies show up like an angry ant colony.
Instance blocking is such a great feature lol
I just learned how to block communities I have been banned from before blocking them. You know, mod overreach and them being little pissbabies. They beat me to the punch a few times. How do you block whole instances? Thanks in advance.
Normally to block a community I did it from the sidebar. After being banned that button goes away for some godawful reason when it is most needed. You can still add the communities to your block list manually in user settings. Thanks again to the user who told me about that last week.
I’m using Mlem for iOS, and I’ll search for instances in the search tab, long-press, and block that way.
There’s a way to do it on the web version — I just can’t remember at the moment since I primarily use an app.
I found this, though. Hope it helps!
Thanks! It was there the whole time I just didn't scroll all the way down. My much longer list of blocked communities left it hiding all the way at the bottom. The first row is as long as whatever entry is the longest.
