Fuck this piece of shit. He is clearly corrupt, and wants to make it easier to get away with it. People need to protest this.

This is a step to destroying democracy. It is extremely serious.

Big fucking crook. Needs to get ousted, but people voted him in twice. What does that say about "the people", including those who couldn't be bothered to vote. 😑

I think second time was fraudulent. But it says to me that the people that know trump is a criminal tyrant are stupid for continuing to use and fund and give credibility to the social media he controls tools and is using to brainwash people into supporting him.

The people that know are letting it happen. They aren't boycotting, and they aren't being active enough, organizing enough, being vocal enough.

Thats what it tells me. I know there are lots of great Americans. But they are not working hard to make things better. They aren't making sacrifices. They aren't going after corporations and politicians. They should be boycotting every single brand trump is associated with.

But they aren't that bothered. So he gets more power. And people complain on social media, and make memes and laugh at him as though thats doing anything.

So we're fucked. Because people are lazy, and addicted to social media maga controls.

I think second time was fraudulent

Why?

Because they kept talking about it like there was a plan, trump said people won't have to vote again, musk kept bragging about how the machines could be rigged, the momentum was with kamala for sure, its something trump would do. Especially project and then do the thing hes accusing others of, we saw him refute fair elections, and we see him rigging the midterms right now. Also his rhetoric changed at some point. Early campaign he was all abput things like "black jobs" trying to get swing votes in his campaign. Then after kamala became his opponent, it switch we d at some point to things like "they're eating our cats and dogs" he stipped trying to get swing voters, and instead focused on radicalizing the voters he already had. They've all but admitted it. Oh, also his complete victory in all swing states. No chance that was a fair election.

This is about the shitty and corrupt premier of ontario not the shitty and corrupt president of the united states.

His (the premier's) 2nd election wasn't necessarily fraudulent, but there didn't seem to be justification for an "emergency election" and it was pretty convenient to have it shortly after sending cheques to taxpayers as a one time tax funded return.

Oh shit, idk where my lines got crossed. I have no reason to believe his election was fraudulent, but I agree he is still a corrupt POS.

I agree.

I do not mean this in a sarcastic manner but how does one effectively protest a dually elected majority government? This crosses my line as it moves into the same territory as we see South of the Canadian border. It is no longer about just waiting for the next election.

Please don’t attack me for not reaching this point as quickly as you over his many other “picadillos” (yes they go beyond that) or for not knowing how best to “protest”. I am seriously interested in suggestions.

Phone calls? Emails? Walking into my local MPP’s office and registering my complaint? Joining a rally if one is planned and how do I know? Are there guides out there for this?

Again, no sarcasm or disrespect intended.

In general I don't know, but Ford always backs down whenever he gets enough bad press.

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago

You mean like with that bike lane bullshit that took him to court?

You need to get together with like minded people, pool your resources together, become organized, boycott companies that support what you're against aggressively. In trumps case, even loke McDonald's. Its not a coincidence Trump keeps feeding McDonald's for people. He's paid to do it.

You need to make it unprofitable to associate with trump, and to attack liberties. Amazon left Quebec because they wanted to unionize. They dont want people to have rights. They support trump. People still ship there. Same for social media maga controls. People still use it, but they are brainwash weapons.

With resources, you can do things like pay for travel so people can go protest in person in front of congress, and make demands.

Phone calls to representatives wont do shit.

Typically young people at schools would start groups.

He's trying to block information about the ~~casino~~ spa and how much money he's been feeding developers.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

you mean like the decision to try to hide your conversations? that is what we are doing you idiot!

[–] usernamefactory@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 day ago

If conversations don't matter, Doug, then why are you talking right now?
