Unironically this was an absolute peak!

Just as I was thinking: surely you can't cast God as a child actor... Surely....

Ruby finally knows the truth! I'm sure a massive weight has been lifted from her shoulders.

Owner is back! Finally Miyako can get a little rest and now with both of them managing everything is surely going to accelerate to new heights!

I read the first few chapters of the manga and I have to say, this is what you call a perfect adaptation. While I enjoyed reading the story, in anime visuals, music and direction really elevated this story to something truly incredible. Massive respect to all the artists involved in this project.

Aqua there casually recruiting so-called god as a child actor.

I'm pro wincest and I'm here to fight the cowards who disagree.

It is indeed the Aqua x Ruby route 💀

Sarina/Ruby: You said you'd marry me once I turn sixteen

Sarina/Ruby: Doctor (Aqua), I am turning sixteen now

Sarina/Ruby: Bro (Aqua), give me your juice

Other works would have done some cowardly cop-out at the last minute, revealing that they are step siblings and hence it's ok for them to get together.

This writer is too big-brained for that, and chose to

Oshi no Ko manga ending spoiler

kill one of them off instead.

I guess there are certainly fewer options when they are technically genetic twins 🗿

(But, the other girls are right there!)

Proper thoughts / discussion:

Absolute Cinema - Ruby version

I love the Oshi no Ko formula of season finale. I love how there's closure, but there's still a hook leaving you wanting more.

I am so glad that Aqua and Ruby got to know their past lives' identities, and that Miyako got to get together with Ichigo again (though Ichigo got off too lightly IMO).

Now that this series is entering its final phases, I wonder if Memcho would get some time in the spotlight. Akane, Kana and Ruby had their turn, but not Memcho. She's pretty much relegated to being a side character these days. Feels bad if she's the only core member who got left out, and get less character development as a result. Maybe there can be an arc in which her actual age is leaked, causing another scandal?

Regarding that white-haired little girl, I'm surprised that she's an actual person and not just a spirit. I wonder why all those crows flock to her, and how she handles them. Think of all the bird shit! Also, why is she getting involved with Aqua and Ruby? She has some knowledge of what's going on - could she be a reincarnated individual too? But there are too little clues to guess at her motivations.

Anyway, peak season once again; looking forward to the next (and final?) season. I am aware of the manga ending, but I hope that the journey there won't be disappointing.

Banner nomination: Ruby sucking Aqua's juice 🥵

What are you doing, not-stepsis

Edit: I only just found out myself, so: THERE'S A POST CREDIT SCENE, people! Don't miss it!

Or miss it, because there's nothing much. It looks like a tease of what's to come, or the trigger for Aqua's revenge plan.

Any guesses as to what Ai's message for Ruby is? Maybe something like "beware of guys who are {perfect description of Hikaru}"? That would be too easy though.

Bro, gimme your juice 💀

spoilerUnfortunately, it's all downhill for Oshi no Ko after this. But because of how the manga ended. This is where I'll plan to stop watching the anime.

I think my only issue with this episode is that the music during the reconciliation scene was a little too on the nose. But other than that, it was great. I actually didn't expect it to be as funny as it was, but I'm not complaining. Kana's reactions were spot on. And now I know where all those wincest memes come from 😅
Overall, I really liked this season. There were some cringe moments, and I have mixed feelings about the supernatural angle, but generally I'm mostly in this for the insight into the showbiz industry and the character interactions, which were great.
